I'm new here so sorry for the stupid question..
Is it safe to do such thing?
Don't worry if you don't do anything stupid to your phone, it won't get security problems and you won't have some S.W.A.T team chasing you for unlocking the bootloader :q
All jokes aside, you should be aware that unlocking bootloader will wipe your phone, meaning data and such.

I read somewhere that downgrading will brick the device since I don't have an unlocked bootloader so I need to wait until huawei releases an official update and see what happens

Haha yeah, security measures
I want to know one thing though, if we don't find a rollback package like he's saying, is it possible to use the dload method to downgrade ?
yeah thats the only method to downlgrade

first, crating a dload folder
placing the rollback update.app(will be in kilobytes)
power off and holding all three buttons untill you saw honor logo
automatic flashing starts then finishes..
auto reboots back
now placing lollipop firmware update.app inside the folder
again doing the same, system will be downgraded without errors or freezings

If I get this phone I'll remember to activate the option before updating, because I will probably get the gr5 version not h5x, and there's no rollback packages for it here.
Man living in a country like mine is no joke, thanks for the clarifications buddy.

Hi there.
I regret to tell you that I know little about the device and its development. I created this thread so that there won't be a dumpster of questions in the Q&A section.
But don't worry, other members will help you out! One already did. Happy to help!

Hit Thanks if I Helped You!!!

Hello,

I am starting down the process of getting Cyanogenmod on my stock honor 5x. I guess I am a noob to all of this since I haven't rooted a phone for cyanogenmod since I did my HD2 years ago.

I known that I need to start with getting the appropriate firmware. My current firmware I believe is CUSTC567D003 (Checked under Custom Version)

Can I begin the process from here or do I need to use a different firmware?

Thank You for all the assistance.

You don't need a specific firmware, just any Marshmallow firmware under b360 will do so you should:
1.unlock bootloader
2.install twrp and root (make a backup also)
3.then install any rom and gapps you want
