Why cm 13 when lineage os is out
Try installing lineage 14.1
lineage os is yet to be much more stable, if you want everything to be working, go with cm13
@C0lrex follow twrp thread and install twrp nad head over to cm13 thread and follow instructions

KII-L21 force firmware from other region

Good day, community. I have GR5 KII-L21 with custom version custc10d004 and build-number KII-L21C10B140. Huawei haven't released official MM firmware for this model.. I don't know they will ever do that.
I have found followings methods
theandroidsoul.com/flash-firmware-any-region-huawei-mate-9-funkyhuawei
carbontesla.com/2015/09/how-to-change-region-of-your-huawei-honor-4c-root
I have 3 questions:
1. It seems it's possible to flash different custom versions since the hardware is almost the same. Do you think it's possible to force flashing different firmware using fastboot or using methods such as above to get MM firmware. I don't want to brick my phone.
2. in case I brick my phone, is it possible to bring my phone to life with nandroid backup since flashing involves messing with phone modem, TZ etc (I assume those are stored in different partitions than data, system, boot)?
3. Is it possible to rip my whole phone and paste it whatever state my phone is since my bootloader is unlocked?

Flash this kernel for getting backup from modem ,... !
http://forum.xda-developers.com/devdb/project/dl/?id=19454
I used following thread and it works , I am not sure whether it caused minor problems or not for me !
http://forum.xda-developers.com/honor-5x/how-to/emui-4-0-android-6-0-1-kiw-l21-c185-t3428478
So maybe you could find and flash files from a device which is very close to you but I am not sure whether It will cause hard or soft brick or ,,, !
Hope it helps ;)

Thank you very much. I used the methods you suggested. I used the firmware closest to my phone and I'm on MM now.

good morning forum, i've installed this rom RR-N-v5.8.0-20161230-kiwi-Unofficial and my L24 is stuck in the animation stage of booting up. I left it all night hoping that it would solve itself but it's morning and it's still stuck in the animation part of booting up, i don't know exactly what this type of issue is called (boot loop, bricked?) but i can't even get to twrp. I made a backup of the original rom but i need to be able to fix this issue. Can anyone guide me on how to get into twrp and erase this rom? When i shutdown the phone, i did then pressed volume up and power button at the same time then let go for a bit then pressed volume up and power button again but i can't get to twrp. Please help me. In the mean time, i will keep searching xda to see if i can find a solution.
please help.
thanks
