Hello, I'm really in need of help.

Recently I flashed stock via ODIN ( G950FXXSBDUA3_G950FOXMBDTJ1_SIN ) formerly was using a custom ROM.

My S8 has 64gb of storage but after flashing stock my storage is capped to 16gb, I have tried using date n time then factory reset method but never succeed.

I tried flashing multiple times but still to no avail. Now I tried flashing to Hades Q rom, but my internal storage still stayed the same.

How can i fix this? Thanks

Maybe flashing the custom rom has changed partition sizes. Then you might have to re-partition the internal storage with the stock pit file again, before flashing a stock firmware.
Re-partitioning will wipe all your data on the internal storage. So I hope that you already have created a backup of everything important.

Thank you for your reply, do you have a link to a guide that I can follow? I'm quite familiar with flashing custom roms but haven't tried what you've said

Not a guide, but a thread about this topic:
This has helped me to fix my problem, thank you. Despite this, I've encountered another problem when I installed TWRP via odin, everytime I tried to install the first problem comes back and I have to install PIT all over again. Do you have any suggestions? Right now I want to install TWRP then flash a custom rom.

As I am on stock Android ATM, I cannot help much.
But I recommend to flash TWRP recovery like described here:
And then install the custom rom you want via TWRP.

Yes those steps are exactly what I did and it always fails. Oh well, I kind of intend to use stock anyway, I'll try again next time.

Thank you, you've been a big help

There is a toggle at the top dropdown statusbar - see my screenshot (it's from my S10 as I do not have my S8 here ATM).
But AFAIR Samsung introduced this feature in more recent firmware versions. Maybe you have to update to the latest available stock firmware to get it.

Hi! Might be a noob question. I have the SM-G850FD, have followed the guide from the TWRP thread and am (I think) having a problem: When I go to install no-verity-opt-encrypt-x.x.zip, I get the following error from TWRP:

Code:
Updater process ended with ERROR: 1
Error installing zip file '/sdcard/no-verity-opt-encrypt-6.1.zip'

When I first saw this, I tried rebooting into TWRP and enabling modification mode (not read-only mode) and tried re-installing. Failed. Tried re-wiping/formatting. Failed.

While I haven't tried rebooting out of recovery, I'm afraid that I may have bricked my phone.

Here's the full log:

Code:
Installing zip file '/sdcard/no-verity-opt-encrypt-6.1.zip'
Unmounting System...
#######################################
# dm-verity and forced encryption #
# disabler by jcadduono #
# version 6.1 #
#######################################
Unpacking the installer...
Updater process ended with ERROR: 1
Error installing zip file '/sdcard/no-verity-opt-encrypt-6.1.zip'
Updating partition details...
...done

Edit: The phone bootloops but shows no errors when booting normally but is able to make it back into TWRP using ODIN.

I just purchased the phone used and it seemed like it hadn't recieved updates in some time, I updated it once, but did not try to do any more updates. is there a chance that it wasn't updated to have the AQG bootloader?

Final Edit: In my case, it looks like either the no-verity install worked despite reporting failure, or wasn't needed: I'm now running LineageOS

I've read that Pegasus Exploit works by rooting a victims smartphone and copying all the data.

The problem is, people here on XDA couldn't root the Galaxy S8's Android 9 for over 2 years already.

Do you think Pegasus exploit can just easily bypass Samsung's tough security, dual bootloaders, Knox in Galaxy S8 Qualcomm and simply root it?

Yes you can, for some reason Samsung made European G950F and Chinese G9500 unlockable and downgradable, can be rooted, custom romed and etc. unlike North American models that utilize dual bootloaders, tough Knox to prevent rooting, TWRP and custom roming.

So it's been a year, or 2 I can't remember since I last used this phone. But I bought this phone through Boost, used it on Boost without issues and then switched to another carrier with a new phone and number. Well 2 days ago I reactivated the S8 back on Boost. I received my SIM card booted up the phone and have 2 notifications. "Invalid SIM" and "Please contact Sprint to unlock device." I've spent a total of 2 hours on chat with Boost between 2 days troubleshooting and trying to figure it out.

Other thing I noticed, I do NOT have Mobile Network Settings in my phone. I even tried to search for it with no luck, I was going to check the APN but that also is no where to be found.

So I hopped onto a Samsung discord where someone advised that I re-flash the stock, which led me to this site to download Odin and Frija. Which I did, and after countless hours of trying to figure out why I kept getting a fail, I switched computers and successfully completed the flash. Cool. Phone boots up, but now it's stuck at 32% update. Get out of that, wipe the cache, reset the phone, it loads up.. Yay, NOT. Still no Mobile Network Settings, but I can search the APN, there is no APN and the "ADD" is grayed out. I'm still getting the same notifications "Invalid SIM" and "Please Contact Sprint to unlock device."

I'm not sure what else I can do, or if there's anything else I can do? I don't understand why it's telling me to contact Sprint to unlock, when It's a Boost Mobile Phone, with Boost apps, and Boost load up screen, purchased from Boost.

I want to root my phone, but the problem is that the only computer I have has a corrupted Windows installation, and I disabled USB Boot to stop my brothers from bypassing my security, and I also forgot the bios password.
How can I make a PXE Server without root on my phone?

Hi guys, I have a noob question for you guys :p So I got an Galaxy S8 from France with firmware of BOG, France, Bouygues France (G950FXXU4CRI5) (the phone its not sim locked) , I got it as a gift, but I live in Romania, so I wondering if I flash with Odin the Romanian (ROM) open firmware (G950FXXU4CRL3), my knox will remain 0x0? I want to keep the guarantee so I dont want to do anyway only if my knox remains at 0x0. (No, the phone its not rooted now and I dont even want to root until I have guarantee, I just want to flash a stock firmware for it, but the Romanian one, not that Bouygues France) . Thx for any help :D

Flashing official stock firmware ( Samsung signed ) will not trip your Knox.
Modifying your phone ( not Samsung signed ) will trip your Knox ie: twrp, rooting etc. Once Knox is tripped there is no fix.

Hi, I just flashed twrp and want to know how can install OTA updates inthe future. Thanks!
OTA updates won't come through unless you flash back to stock.

I have a stupid and nobbie question: How to root the s8+? I dont want to install any roms, i need only to use titanium backup and sixaxis controller.
    https://forum.xda-developers.com/ga...pment/recovery-twrp-galaxy-s8-exynos-t3595102

Follow this guide here for steps to flash TWRP first. Follow it EXACTLY step by step and you will have no issues.

After TWRP is fully flashed correctly amd you can boot into TWRP then flash magisk v13.3 from here

    https://forum.xda-developers.com/apps/magisk/official-magisk-v7-universal-systemless-t3473445

Again, follow all steps EXACTLY as they are posted and you should have no issues

OK so I've had all the nexus phones since the GNex (except the 5X) and have been happily rooted and flashing ROMS, but I'm a noob as far as recent Samsung's go.
Today I impulse ordered a UK Snapdragon S8 (The device is EPIC in hand)..... What's the likelihood of root & custom roms happening? this could honestly make or break me taking delivery of the device :(
