Getting google play on Fire HDX 8.9 4th gen (saturn)

I have been searching for months & tried things from the forums to fix this: This is my issue I have a Fire Hdx 8.9 4th generation (Saturn) running Fire OS 4.5.3, I have it rooted with the Kingroot method, have OTA updates blocked & google play, youtube worked great until a few months ago then just loaded to a white screen. I have uninstalled them, tried the Jmz fire hd7 app to reinstall, manual apks etc & I can get the play store to load but once I try downloading something, playing a youtube video, both apps go back to a white screen. What is the best way to fix this? Do I need to update the OS? (If so, are Apollo updates safe or do they HAVE to be Saturn updates)..Flash it back to stock to start from scratch, etc? I appreciate any guidance.

Flashing is not an option on a Saturn as you have limited control over the device. Given it it still under warranty (4th gen devices were released Oct 21st 2014) contact Amazon and request a one time exchange. You don't need to be specific about how your device became disabled; just describe the symptoms. When your new device arrives forget about installing gapps ... at least for now. Google core services do not play well under FireOS as you have learned. At some point Safestrap v4 or something similar (eg: MultiRom for HDX) will likely become available for this device. You will then be able to flash a different rom (Nexus or CMxx) which offer full access to the Google Play and related services. There are also reports FireOS v5 is a bit closer to ASOP. If accurate Google Services may work better under that OS. Your Saturn will automatically update to FireOS v5 when it is released (soon).

I understand this is not the answer you were hoping for...sorry.

Just an FYI if you did not know.
People have already gotten the Beta to this device from Amazon. I would as well, but do not have the time nor reason to use my kindle anymore. As it stands, There might be some exploit that amazon has left out for root. a possible 1% chance given their handiwork on the last forks.

bootloader exploits are usually found in first few months of Device's initial release
and are usually patched soon after.

Sorry, forgot to add; it's running Fire OS 5 .1 .2.

if still on 5.1.2 you can use kingroot to gain root (google kingroot on device and download). you can follow instructions in another part of this forum to load the Google Play store and it will function as a normal tablet. Because of the 'bad' serial you will not be able to link to an amazon account or use any amazon based app/service unless you do it thru the internet browser. at moment as far as i know, there are still no custom roms for the saturn version 8.9 hdx. if unaware, the serial is 'bad' as the original owner never 'unlinked' the tablet from their account and they are the only ones who can, or it was stolen and sold. same as a phone being 'blacklisted'. i have the same tablet and the same issue. i bought it on ebay and did all above. works perfectly fine.

Greetings, my device is a 4th gen, 64GB, Gapps installed, FireOS 5.3.1, launcher changed to Nova Prime, rooted with Kingroot 4.9.7. I was in the process of removing Kingroot in favor of supersu (using SuperSuMe per guide at Missing Tricks) and all was going well up until the recommended reboot after supersu updated binary. Now it gets to the animated "Fire" logo and there she stays. Is there a possible fix or is it time to contact Amazon? I greatly appreciate any help.
Known glitch with SuperSUme and FireOS 5.3.1; reboot is deadly. No known fix other than reloading FireOS from recovery which isn't possible on locked HDX models. Best contact Amazon for a warranty exchange.

Does rooting work for 4.5.5 Saturn?
    Not at this time.
