Common bugs

  1. Fingerprint enrollment issues. Flash Nougat to resolve this. No, you have to flash, if you don't want to, please do not post bug reports. Follow this guide by @rahulsnair to update your phone to Nougat soak test. We have a soak test because the release version has not yet been captured for us to use. You can also (although the developer still won't accept bug reports) rename the fingerprints to add more (credits @mason2smart). Also, try this as mentioned by @__Maddy.
  2. Camera/Video recording issues. Use the built in camera, NOT Moto Camera (the camera you had on stock ROM) as your camera. You can also use any other recording app (Cameringo, Motorola Camera, Google Camera all work just fine). And yes, Motorola Camera is different from Moto Camera. Camera issues are being sorted out by the CyanogenMod team (and will reflect on all ROMs that are based on CM), and only once those issues are sorted can the developers for this device sort any issues with ATHENE out. Note that for Moto Camera to work, you need to set the DPI (Settings > Display > Display Size) to the default one.
  3. Unable to share images/screenshots from gallery or filemanager. Sort this one out by formatting your internal storage. Credits @smitharro, here.
  4. Chop-Chop/ Torch issues. Do a reboot. It should work then.
  5. VoLTE issues. Follow the instructions on this thread, if that doesn't help we need logs, or we really can't help.

    CypherOS bugs

  1. Video Recording doesn't work. Use Footej/Cameringo Lite for now.
  2. External SD read error in inbuilt file manager. Use another file manager.
To fix the gallery issue you can also just cut the entire dicm folder and move it to external SD card and merge if there is a previous folder there. It will fix the attachment issue and allow you to keep the photos in the folder and internal storage files.

I'll test others.

CyanMod is the best for me, but I can also recommend:
1. Resurrection Remix (N)
2. AICP rom (N)
3. Slim rom (N)
It's in the order in which I like them most. RR Rom is very stable, but won't be my primary because of an overload of features!
Very close follower is AICP rom. Very stable also! Extra features are somewhat 'hidden'. Me placing it second is just a matter of feeling...
Somewhat behind is Slim rom. Very basic rom. No built-in root, no built-in browser. Ambient display wasn't working properly for me. But also very stable!

You can also just backup the internal memory and then wipe it. Reboot the rom so that the directories/folders are added again by the rom. Now copy your photos, movies and downloads back into their equivalent folders.
To go short: it doesn't matter how you do it, but let the system (any 7.1 rom) make the folders on the internal memory. Pre-existing folders from stock rom cause this problem!

And please don't quote the OP. Just the section you need to make your point clear.

With other roms the same problem. No sim card detected. I will reinstall the MM firmware and re-upgrade to N.

Sorry, but I can't pinpoint my finger on your issue... Only time my simcard wasn't detected was while using an earlier version of SuperSU in CyanMod.

you don't need to flash the who;e firmware again and again just flash modem files using fastboot
That MAY work. But is not advised. Remember: the whole firmware makes also the bootloader more compatible with N roms!

Is it normal for my device to be routed with twrp recovery and bootloader status to be as official?

Attempted to flash superSU 2.46 on my motoG4 plus XT1644 running RR 5.8.0 and the system boot loops. I've tried to flash su with a few other cm based mm Roms and experienced the same issue. This is my first Motorola device...I've really never issues with super Su before. Any suggestions?

Thanks

SuperSU 2.46....!!
Pls search.. Latest version is "2.78_ SR5 "
It will work without any error..

If you are using PreRooted ROM, my suggestion is to disable Root access firstly from developer settings...
