I'm sorry but I'm not as teckie as you guys but can you explain in dumbie terms what that means we're is the recovery mode and how to get flash fix
you have posted in E4 thread since the beginning ..albeit sporadically but pretty certain you had magisk & modules installed in the past ...in this link you have all the info you need ..just read it & execute the instructions

-download module zip & put on external sd
-boot into twrp custom recovery you flashed with fastboot
-click install
-select zip from sd
*after magisk modules will work

https://www.google.es/amp/s/forum.x...gisk-official-version-including-t3577875/amp/

if you have no twrp recovery installed ..google it and install it ...the guides for E4 mediatek have all been written

ive never had modules installed
well if you have twrp ( team win custom reovery ) installed and you rooted with magisk ..download the .zip file in the link i provided

put it on your phone's internal memory ..boot into recovery using hardware key combination of power + volume ..or use adb command "adb reboot bootloader" .. or using a root reboot app that gives you the option to boot to recovery

click install button ...browse to location of .zip
flash zip ...reboot to system ..install modules inside magisk manager as per usual ..

Lifeline carriers/virgin mobile rom?

I had this phone originally from MetroPCS. I have unlocked it and confirmed that the unlock was successful. My question is if anyone knows if this phone will work with any of the Lifeline program carriers. I have been told from Safelink's customer service that it will but I wanted to know if anyone here has tried it themselves before I switch from Assurance Wireless (I've tried putting in the Assurance Wireless sim card and it wont work).

Assurance Wireless works with Virgin Mobile, is there a Virgin Mobile rom available for my xt1765? I think it's worth trying.

Can someone tell me how to block the update notifications on my Boost XT1766? It is rooted so that I can edit the APN use it with Tello. I accidentally took the update and I had to wipe everything. Would like to know a simple way to get rid of the system update nagging.
disable update apk using any root tool application like titanium or sd maid
Well, I tried last night. Titanium backup will not work because I did not set up Magisk. I only used Magisk because I need to enable APN menu for my Boost E4. I wonder if I can use "adb disable" to disable the update app? If yes, what would be the name of the package that I can disable?

what do you mean you didn't setup magisk ...do you have twrp ? the package has different names in different devices ..i sold me E4 .. so i don't remember ...usually something with fota or ota in the package name...

Run this adb command to get names of all packages

adb shell
pm list packages -e

-look for the packages with fota or ota then run commands below to disable ..they might come back aftee a reboot though ...i would just use file manager in twrp and "cut" the package from system and paste it somewhere safe in case you bootloop so you can paste it back the same waybut this way is permanent for sure...

adb shell

pm disable <package name>

Hi guys,
I'm a little lost.
Yesterday I installed xposed onto my moto e4. I did a twrp backup beforehand.
it was working fine, rebooted a few time to change settings and such like, also did a few full power down cycles with no issues.
last night the battery went flat. Then the trouble started, I left it on charge for about 3 hours which is normally enough for a full charge.
It failed to boot after this, I restored the backup, still no boot. This morning I have gone to my absolute fallback and flashed the stock rom using sp flash tools. still nothing. The charging port has worn a bit and some chargers wont stay in my device, the one I'm using does and I have a replacement bottom signal receiver board on its way to replace it.

Anyone had a similar issue before and Is it possible that it is just a charging issue? Or could there be further problems?

EDIT: Figured out it was a charging issue however I can't get the TWRP backup to restore properly.
So I am trying to start at stock again but I've run into an issue, If I flash TWRP (using fastboot) when I boot back into system the system is writing over it with the stock recovery, if I boot into recovery first ( by holding volume down when I execute fastboot reboot) then when I try to boot to system it doesn't work.
Am I missing a step? I am 99% sure that last time the system didn't write over with stock recovery.
I've been working on this all day, any help would be appreciated.

Not sure what I did. Xt1766 sperry

I had previously rooted my phone with magisk TW RP DM verity. I am not skilled in this and was a long time ago. Phone has been working fine but accidentally updated while was in my pocket the other day and was stuck in recovery boot loop. Friend of mine took it and got it to boo'd up. Magisk is installed it shows I'm getting root access but the bootloader unlock option is not greyed out and phone says it's not charging, but shows it is and my computer will not pick up my phone no matter the USB setting. The wrong I have installed is stock debloated but cannot remember which one it was when I downloaded. Sorry for any typos using voice to text driving down the road. Thank you for any help

Restoring a bricked Moto E4 XT-1768

Last year, I made some notes upon successfully unbricking my Moto E4 XT-1768. Given that the older the phone gets, the more likely I or another owner will attempt an update and have it go awry, I thought I'd post my notes here with the caveat, YMMV. My OS was Fedora Linux, and I ran the commands as root from the directory containing the unzipped contents of the zip file. Both adb and fastboot were previously installed .

Apparently have a working old E4. Will explain steps below. Note: ROMs
with "USC" in their names are for US Cellular, not Sprint. CDMA, but
different channels.

1. Flash StockPlus.zip
2. Unzip
XT1768_PERRY_RETUS_7.1.1_NPQS26.69-64-23_cid50_subsidy-DEFAULT_regulatory-DEFAULT_CFC.xml.zip
3. Open flashfile.xml to see what to do.

4. The key to success appears to be dealing with system.img chunks.
The default max-sparse-size was on the order of 260K, but the files
in all of the ROM zips are larger. Hence need to sparsechunk the
sparsechunk files

5. sudo su
fastboot devices

fastboot oem fb_mode_set
fastboot flash partition gpt.bin
fastboot flash bootloader bootloader.img
fastboot flash modem NON-HLOS.bin
fastboot flash fsg fsg.mbn
fastboot erase modemst1
fastboot erase modemst2
fastboot flash dsp adspso.bin
fastboot flash logo logo.bin
fastboot flash boot boot.img
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img

fastboot -S 256M flash system system.img_sparsechunk.0
fastboot -S 256M flash system system.img_sparsechunk.1
fastboot -S 256M flash system system.img_sparsechunk.2
fastboot -S 256M flash system system.img_sparsechunk.3
fastboot -S 256M flash system system.img_sparsechunk.4
fastboot -S 256M flash system system.img_sparsechunk.5

fastboot flash oem oem.img
fastboot erase cache
fastboot erase userdata
fastboot erase DDR
fastboot oem fb_mode_clear
fastboot reboot

May need to reflash gpt.bin and bootloader
