You mean system.img ?
That's for older devices
It's system chunks now.
I haven't updated that thread in like 4 years
Commands are the same as reg fastboot
Just out a m in front fastboot

Sent from my ali using XDA Labs
Same thing as before. Cant even get past:

mfastboot oem fb_mode_set
...
FAILED (remote failure)
finished. total time: 0.012s

Maybe its hardware failure or something.

RSD lite:

Edit:

The main question now is, why flashing partition gpt.bin isint working?

mfastboot flash partition gpt.bin
target max-sparse-size: 256MB
sending 'partition' (32 KB)...
OKAY [ 0.006s]
writing 'partition'...
(bootloader) This may take a few seconds, if a
(bootloader) different partition table is being
(bootloader) flashed since we need to backup
(bootloader) and restore a few partitions
(bootloader) Flashing primary GPT image...
(bootloader) Flashing backup GPT image...
(bootloader) Failed to write EFI backup GPT header.

(bootloader) Failed to program partition table
FAILED (remote failure)
finished. total time: 0.444s
For example flashing recovery.bin or system chunks works. Any idea?
Im planning to check all the firmwares out there. Is it worth my time?

6.0.1
XT1541_OSPREY_RETEU_6.0.1_MPI24.107-55-2_cid7_subsidy-DEFAULT_CFC.xml
XT1541_OSPREY_RETEU_6.0.1_MPIS24.107-55-2-5_cid7_subsidy-DEFAULT_CFC.xml

Stops at Failed to write EFI backup GPT header.

6.0 wont work at all.

Found out a little bit more. There are two compatilible firmware version with this device:

XT1541_OSPREY_RETEU_6.0.1_MPI24.107-55-2_cid7_subsidy-DEFAULT_CFC
XT1541_OSPREY_RETEU_6.0.1_MPIS24.107-55-2-5_cid7_subsidy-DEFAULT_CFC

When I tried to skip first flash command this error appears:

mfastboot flash partition gpt.bin
target max-sparse-size: 256MB
sending 'partition' (32 KB)...
OKAY [ 0.006s]
writing 'partition'...
(bootloader) This may take a few seconds, if a
(bootloader) different partition table is being
(bootloader) flashed since we need to backup
(bootloader) and restore a few partitions
(bootloader) Flashing primary GPT image...
(bootloader) Flashing backup GPT image...
(bootloader) Failed to write EFI backup GPT header.

(bootloader) Failed to program partition table
FAILED (remote failure)
finished. total time: 0.444s
On fastboot screen there is one thing I didnt mention before:

Software status: modified

For example when I try to use Lenovo Moto Smart Assistant rescue option It says that device is not supported. It looks like the main problem is this custom firwmare on this device. But how did someone flash it on locked device?

Is there anything I could try?

Also, since it's my mom's phone, is it worth upgrading from Nougat performance wise? Is it better/worse?
As to performance: On my 1GB Osprey, LOS 14 performed better than LOS 17. On 2GB device the difference may not be as noticeable.

It should be noted that even in LOS14, 1GB Osprey devices had issues with apps getting killed (especially when using the LOS camera). This does not occur on other even older 1GB Moto Devices. I reported on this and one of the devs checked it out but no luck with a solution. IMO LOS 17 seems a bit more sluggish than dids LOS 14, and I've not even loaded it with apps. This just happens to be the device on which I'm testing LOS17 but is not my daily.

IMO If you can find LOS 14 Osprey builds with current security patches that might be better for 1GB device. If no patched LOS 14 or if you have a 2GB device it might be worth going for LOS 17 on Osprey.

Vendor image does not match system

I have a Moto G turbo (Merlin) and i installed Havoc OS in it. Everything works fine except the Camera and the proximity sensor. Whenever I open camera it crashes. I have installed many camera apps and tried it. In the sock rom it used to work fine. Also when I get a call I get a call my screen turns blank and I am not able to attend it.

I think there is some problem with the vendor image cause whenever I switch off my phone and turn it on again it gives an error "
The vendor image does not match system. Please flash the MPDS24.107-56-1-28 vendor image for you device"

Please tell me a way to fix this. I searched for the vendor image in my stock rom but i just found a .xml file that has a similar name. I don't know how to flash an xml file. It would be gr8 if anyone could please provide me with the vendor image for my phone and tell me how to flash it so that I could get this error fixd and take photos again!!
