Hey guys.. I recently unlocked my bootloader and root my moto x 1st gen.. In the process i flashed both cwm recovery (and as that was not opening up), twrp recovery as well (which opens up fine and works perfectly).. Now my device has 2 recoveries.. I just wanted to know:
1- if thats a problm? Like having 2 recoveries.. If it is then,
2- how to remove one..?

Thank you! :D

I'll be happy if someone really answer my question :|
I have a Dev edition and unlocked my boot loader on 4.4.2 I believe. I have taken OTA's and manually flashed newer android versions including boot loader and it has never locked. I would think sunshine would act the same. But can't give you a 100% answer.

You only have one recovery. When you installed the last recovery it over writes the previous recovery. You can not have two recoveries at once.

Well I always though that was the case.. Till i saw this (attached screenshot), where it shows both the names.. Some problem with the app maybe.. ?_?

Thanks anyways! :D
Ah you are using a app. You still shouldn't have more than one. If you are using a app flashify will flash a recovery img and you should be good. Or fastboot the recovery manually.

I fastbooted the recoveries manually one over the other by using adb on my pc.. I downloaded this app later just to check it out..

moto x screen flashes

I was wondering if I could get some help with my Moto x...

When my active display pops up and has notifications, the back light flashes either before the display or after it. I also have a video of it (.wmv) if that will help.

Thanks for any help!

No backup of stock OS and unsure of which one to try off the various sites

So I have a problem. Because I lost my stock OS(wiped it through TWRP), I have no idea what the system version is to compare it to the list of firmwares given on the other threads. For the moment, I installed CM12(using TWRP/adb/fastboot) just so I didn't have an OS-less phone. I'm assuming the version numbers are going to be different. Am I wrong?

Anyway, these are the current versions (with CM12 installed):

CM Version:
  • 12.1-20150505-NIGHTLY-victara
Android Version:
  • 5.1.1
Baseband version:
  • MSM8974BP_4060908.10.08.27.09R
Kernel version:
Build Number:
  • cm_victara-userdebug 5.1.1 LMY47V 6e99592241 test-keys
My phone variant:
  • XT1097 through Telus

I couldn't find any info on what RETCN, RETAR, RETLA, etc. mean.

Where do I go from here? Do I grab the ATT firmware, a generic XT1097, or what? If any other info is needed, I'll see if I can't provide it.

You have a 2nd Gen X, or 2014 X. So I suggest you check in the right section... This is the 2013 X section.

front glass Moto X (xt1092)

Hi guys,

I broke the front glass of my moto x. the touchscreen works fine but the glass is broken.
I found many places that sell it for less than 10 euros... but I cannot find an ecommerce where they sell original motorola spare parts.
Do you have any suggestion please?

I m using stock moto x ROM with twrp recovery and few tweaks with gravity box and few modules of xposed installer. No other scripts installed. As 5.1 ota is soon to arrive, I want to make my phn ready for it. I downloaded stock recovery from filefactory links provided in XDA posts.

I want to know what other changes should I do to make my phn accept ota ? Just uninstall installed xposed and GB frameworks or what else?

Thank you.

im planning to make a thread on this soon in the general section.. A lot of people are asking the same question again and again in several posts.. So i think redirecting them to my thread would be easy for everyone... Just keep yourself updated on the general section i will be posting A COMPLETE HOW TO GUIDE for the people who have messed up the stock firmware by xposed, root or flashed custom rom etc who are wanting to get back to pure stock in order to receive 5.1 OTA on any model of Moto X it will be a easy guide for the newbies also.. Untill then just wait...
