Hello

i have a moto z droid using it on tmobile. everything works fine except for the call quality. the other party can barely hear me that my voice goes in n out on their end, however, i can hear them without issues. if i use bluetooth headset for calls, other party can hear me fine. is there a fix for this yet ? been googling for answers and havent found any real solution other than using the headset to make calls. im on stock rom with latest 7.1.1 update. i dont suppose flashing custom rom will solve it ?

tks

Sounds like the microphone is bad.
Not sure but maybe the microphone can be replaced.

Hi,

I have a 1650-05 Chinese model with no Google Play services.
What's the best way to get Google services on it? Some search results suggest installing an international/EU Griffin ROM, not sure if that would work, and it makes me a bit worried.
So is there an easier solution to get Play Store on it? Even if it will go away after a format.

Really appreciate the help.

There are a couple of options
If rooted you could install an http://opengapps.org .zip file
In trwp or other flashing app (FlashFire or Flashify)
Or possibly
Just install the 4 apps needed for Google framework
Links to mirrored apps (Apk mirror
http://www.apkmirror.com/ )

Either method should work, but you do need to select the versions that are compatible with the firmware version on your phone.

Hi

I discovered an app that's Orange Services. Does that mean that my mobile doesn't get updates directly from Motorola?

What should I do to get automatically the latest updates?Screenshot_20180411-133154.jpg

replace moto z battery (gv30) with moto z force battery (gv40)

is it possible to replace 2600mah (gv30) moto z battery with 3500mah (gv40) moto z force battery?

since it quite identical in dimension and connector, the only difference is the plug on moto z force is flipped

I tried to update my Moto Z (XT1650/M1B90) to Lineage 15.1. Was having major problems going through the guide on the 'How to install page' on their website, couldn't get TWRP to install the zip file with the Lineage image etc.

Only thing that still seems to work is fastboot. Any suggestions how I can get Lineage 15.1 working, or - alternatively - a stock rom or other custom rom on my device?

Unlock the bootloader.
Install the latest official TWRP image through fastboot.
Copy the rom and gapps to your Moto Z and flash them through TWRP ( make a factory reset before installing a rom, of course ) .

The bootloader is unlocked. When I try to install TWRP image using Cmder, I get a message that the image is unsigned or corrupt.

Any suggestions on how to proceed? I have added some photographs to show what I see on the screen of my Moto Z.

Edit: choosing the 'Recover' option while in fastboot mode, I was able to start TWRP (see picture in attached thumbs). How do I copy the lineage build zip file to the device now? Same goes for installing the Google apps (Mind the Gapps)?

Edit 2: I played around with ADB sideloading and somehow managed to get LineageOS working. However the mobile network part is not functioning, so I cannot make calls, use mobile internet etc. Any solution available for that? Looking at the fastboot screenshot it says ''Baseband: <not found>'

Hmm, that shouldn't be happening. Try going back to stock.

I made a mini version of stock Oreo as a flashable zip, and if that won't change anything, you will have to go with a pure stock zip.

Thanks for your support, highly appreciated!!!

Downloading the zip file right now. Can I install it like described at https://wiki.lineageos.org/devices/griffin/install? Meaning: pushing the file via adb, booting to recovery mode, wipe Cache, System and Data and then install the zip-package?

Yeah, it's a simple flashable zip, it doesn't modify as much as the original stock zip.
Unfortuntely it didn't work :crying:, still no mobile network. Took some time to install your zip, as I had to use ADB sideload (when I finally got my device into recovery mode, the zip file I pushed was gone).

Where can I find a complete pure stock zip file (preferably 8.0 version for RETEU)? And how do I install this file? Guess not via TWRP? And will this restore the missing baseband functionality as well (read something about modem modules in the original Moto Z rom zip).

Btw: any chance that I 'destroyed' my IMEI or having caused any other damage to my phone that cannot be repaired? I'm running standard Moto Z Oreo now, seems that the only thing that keeps missing is the ability to register on mobile networks

This thread should do:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-z/how-to/guide-how-to-install-official-oreo-t3768712
Do only the stock Nougat installation part ( those fastboot commands ) and do not let the OS update itself with OTAs.

Thanks for pointing me out to this thread. Do you mean that I should not install the contents of the 'Blur_Version...' zip file?

Would it be possible to install the Nougat part, followed by trying to install Lineage OS 15.1 (if the Nougat part brings back mobile network functionality)?

You should first try fixing your SIM functions, worry about custom roms later.
