Ok, go to apps and find google play services. Uninstall updates and try updating the system again.
So, @tissot-dev (who is this? Xiaomi engineers?) published open source code for Tissot. (is this only for mi a1, who named it, when and why, what is it made from, is it build on aosp, if so in how many iterations to get to "Tissot").

Actually I'm a newbie having not much idea regarding it. Uninstalling Google play services updates is safe or not? Will it delete any data in my phone?
It is safe, you can update it again after upgrading your system.

Tried uninstalling Google play service updates but it says uninstalling Unsuccessful
Tell us more about the procedure you are using, files you downloaded and from where, rom, twrp and specific error you are having. Take a screenshot of the error if you can.
You need to go to Settings > Security > Device Administrators*and disable*Android Device Manager*first. Then uninstall play services updates.

Report it to the moderators. Open your thread in an internet browser, not through an app. Go to the first post of your thread and find the triangle button in the end of the first post. See the screenshot i attached. The first icon to the left.
A message box will open, choose reason for reporting (thread maintenance) and write a short message (be polite please) and send the report.

Stock rom is built by Xiaomi and approved by Google. Xiaomi should fix the bugs. Hopefully they take the feedback reports of users into account.
Custom roms to my knowledge do not contribute to the official stock roms.
