So I just started having a really strange problem yesterday my phone just turned off when I plugged it in to charge.
Then I tried turning it back on it starts to boot up says Xperia does a couple of the little wave thingies then the screen stays black but still back-lit.
But the strange part is where it works just fine If its plugged into my computer.
I updated the to the latest official that I've been ignoring for a while to see if that might do something.
and now the phone just constantly restarting unless if it's plugged into my computer.
any thoughts on what I can do to fix it?

What is a good ROM upgrade for the US T-Mobile C6606 Xperia Z?

What is a good ROM upgrade for the US T-Mobile C6606 Xperia Z? I've had the phone for a year, and would like to upgrade from T-mobile's old Android 4.3 ROM. I realize the bootloader is permanently locked, so my options are somewhat limited. I did some searching in these forums but most of the C6606 info I found was old.

FYI: I do currently have the phone rooted and I do use XPosed, and the phone is also carrier unlocked via T-mobile (not that that should make a difference).

I will still be using the phone with T-mobile, and it would be ideal to keep WiFi calling, but I'm guessing that that won't be an option with a new ROM, so I might have to live without it.

Also, it's been about 2 years since I last installed a custom ROM on a phone, so if someone could point me to the correct installation guides, that would also be helpful. Thanks.

the battery keep me 2 days and half with normal use ( talking 1,2 hours on day and acces internet 2 hours on period of thats day); until in 50% battery is drain normal in standby (1-3% ,and sometimes nothing) but under 50% is start to make pr0blems. For example, in a night is drain from 47% to 38; that mean 9 percent in a night in standby. And in day is drain fast and sometimes salt every two percent or jump from 21% to 17% when is in standby ...i dont know the reason of this anormality; until in 50% things like thats dont happen, only under 50%. I mention that happen to 2 devices xperia z. I use amplify and i verify the battery in settings. Rom is a custom, resurection remix

Hi, guys :) As I done some search these days, especialy through this forum, let me start saying that without doubt here are so many brilliant people, capable of doing all sort of amazing stuff, which makes this forum really awesome and unique place.

I am interested in rooting my Xperia Z c6603, sim-free, running stock 5.1.1. Basically, I want power user privileges for apps specialized for rooted environment that can improve my battery, eliminate bloatwear and adds, kill unnecesary background apps/processes, eventualy clock CPU in order to perform optimaly with less battery drain...
Since I am totally unexperienced and new in this, I appreciate every suggestion, advice, opinion, tutorial, possible movement in other more convenient thread, and similar.
Cheers

Not sure if you could do it with locked BL. Since unlocked BL is a must for flashing kernel, suppose it's same for a custom ROM. However, just guessing, try doing some search in developing section.

Asking about Unrooting and Rooting Method

Greetings

I want to ask about unrooting and rooting the easiest way, here some information about my c6603 i can provide:

1) Its rooted (done by me) because i need to use titanium backup to backup my personal data manually and freezing unused sys app
2) Android version 5.0.2 stock
3) Build number 10.6.A.0.454
4) Kernel version 3.4.0-perf-g8fa3dae [email protected] #1
5) Not sure about bootloader but never flash any custom ROM/KERNEL, i just need root to backup my personal data using titanium backup
6) I'm using SuperSU

The problem is, since Niantic updated PoGo, i cant play it because of the root, so, if anyone here have some really easy way to root and unroot this phone, please give me any instructions needed. Btw, i do know about Magisk or Suhide but i dont really wanna hide my root, its just i need some easy method to root/unroot my c6603 so when its time i need to backup my data, i just need to re-root and un-root my device back to normal.
But if its involving unlocking/locking my bootloader, i will rather uninstall PoGo as my data more important than PoGo.

I'm sorry if i make some mistake in my English and triggered some grammar nazi :) as its not my native language

Thanks in advance to anyone willing to reply to my question.

I have the Xperia Z with the locked bootloader from T-mobile, the C6606 model I believe. I had upgraded it to 5.1.1 using the flashtool etc and all was fine. I've been using it for a few months and then today I tried to use an app that requires root and didn't realize it was un-rooted. It locked up so I just held power and vol+.

Edit: Now it's just boot looping, says Sony, then reboots, I'll research more while hoping someone can give me any pointers on getting it working again. Tried re-flashing with the Flash tool but it still boot loops :(

Edit 2: Flashed it using flash tool back to the stock rom, Then used the Sony utility to do a repair and Bam! it's booting again!

I've searched the forums here but wasn't really sure which option was right for this situation, would anyone mind giving me a hand please?

Thanks for your time!

To switch it off, hold the power button and the volume up button together till you feel 3 consecutive short vibrations.
1. What recovery did you use? (I recommend TWRP)
2. Did you wipe system, cache, dalvik? If so then the zip you flashed is corrupted. Re-download the zip and flash it again.
