Having a quick look around but can't seam to find a straight answer, I have CM10.1 Flashed on the Xperia Z but I miss the Sony Camera App (Seams to take better pictures)

Is there a way to have this app run on CM or not?

Hi, I'm going to answer this in parts. :)

This is not normal, not at all.
Is your screen brightness set to 100%? Are you running tons of apps in the background?
If not, it could be possible that your battery is faulty and is dying.

There are quite a few & honestly, I can only give you my own opinion. There is no standard "best ROM".
Try some of them and see what suits your device the best.
I personally love the stock ROM.

Rooting - yes.
Unlocking the bootloader - depends. Why do you wanna do this? Are you planning to flash a ROM that needs a custom kernel to run?
Are you planning on using a custom kernel or try and build one? If the answer to any of these is yes, then go ahead and unlock the bootloader.

Yes, rooting doesn't erase the DRM keys. You don't need to unlock the bootloader to root.

Check post #2 in this thread. There's links there.

If you backed up your TA partition, you can restore it at a later time when you wanna switch back to the stock kernel.
There's a link in post #2 for this.

Try it yourself and find out. Each ROM will have it's own list of bugs.

Again, this depends on how you see the Bravia Engine. I just think it's a sort of filter that increases color saturation and sharpness.
I honestly don't see much of a difference, yet I prefer to keep BE off.

Varies across ROMs. Try it yourself.

Well, avoid cross posting. I hope this answers most, if not all your questions.
Dude thanks a million, my final question if i switch from stock 4.2 to another stock 4.2 anf then root, will i be able to install the mod which can make me run games and apps from external sd or transfer apps from internal sd to external sd or will this require BL unlock?

Again dude much much appreciated :)

good evening sir, i need your help, i can't unlock my bootloader, i always get the fastboot.exe not recognized. pls help me. my pc is windows 7. sorry for bad english. i dunno what to do,i've been trying to unlock my bootloader for 4 weeks. i installed everything and followed the guide but i was not succesful please help TIA
Well, you should learn how to use cmd then. (I don't mean to put you down, I'm just saying.)
An easier way to get all this working without having to bother about where you put adb, fastboot and the corresponding dlls, do this:

  • Download this.
  • Extract all the files to a folder, preferably C:\Android. (Note that you should hae the files adb.exe, fastboot.exe, etc. inside the C:\Android folder, not another folder in there.)
  • Now, we will add this folder to the path.
    • Windows 7
      • Select Computer from the Start menu
      • Choose System Properties from the context menu
      • Click Advanced system settings > Advanced tab
      • Click on Environment Variables, under System Variables, find PATH, and click on it.
      • In the Edit windows, modify PATH by adding C:\Android at the end
    • Windows Vista
      • Right click My Computer icon
      • Choose Properties from the context menu
      • Click Advanced tab (Advanced system settings link in Vista)
      • In the Edit windows, modify PATH by adding C:\Android at the end
    • Windows XP
      • Start -> Control Panel -> System -> Advanced
      • Click on Environment Variables, under System Variables, find PATH, and click on it.
      • In the Edit windows, modify PATH by adding C:\Android at the end
  • Reboot
You should no longer see "fastboot is not recognized as an internal/external command".

Nope, it can't run without Sony's framework.

Ideally, yes. If it was working before, then it should work even after switching from one 4.2 stock ROM to another.

@kgs1992 I spent a little time on the banner :D
Thank you very much. This is really good!
May I please request a layered PSD? If you could put it on your dropbox and send me a link in PM, that would be awesome.

On a side note, I'm planning to add users to the Hall of fame once the thread hits 500 posts. :)

Hello and welcome. :)
You have some reading to do.
Check out 1.1 & 3.1 from post #2 in this thread.
If you plan on unlocking and flashing ROMs, it would be good to read up on all the threads linked to in post #2.

Hi guys, i'm really hoping somebody can help me out. Before anybody asks, yes I have performed various searches using different terms and now i'm even more confused

Right, so i'm currently sat using a Carbon (AOSP) build from the end of June, and I want to return to stock (latest .423 preferably) and relock my bootloader in order to sell my phone. I've read multiple threads talking about updating to .423 from other Sony stock ROMs, but I can't find any solid information on how to go from AOSP to Sony stock and relocking the bootloader.

My guess would be to download a .423 tft file and flash the kernel.sin file from within using Flashtool. Then relock the bootloader using flashtool and finally flash the entire .423 tft file to achieve what I want. Does anybody know if that's correct? Thanks in advance for any advice :D

Edit: I don't want to be rooted or on a custom kernel etc. after the procedure, I just want my phone to be back on the latest stock Sony build. Cheers.

XZRecovery -> XZDualRecovery

Hi Guys,

Im Using XZRecovery on my 4.2.2 rooted XZ. I have some Backups already made with TWRP 2.4.
Now im up to install XZDualRecovery because I cant boot into recovery without using the App. Do my Backups still work after upgrading to TWRP 2.5 ?

Edit:
May I delete the XZRecovery App after installting DualRecovery or will it crash my recovery system?

Hello.
My friend got an Xperia Z since May. On June he updated the phone through PC Companion to 4.2.2 and everything worked well until last week when the phone begin to reboot randomly and drain the battery very fast. Is there a possibility to return to 4.1? Or at least to make it work again as it was on beginning?
Thanks.

repair with pc companion or reflash 4.2.2 rom with the flashtool. You can also switch back to 4.1.2 with the flashtool.

I tried the repair version with PC Companion and no luck. I think to uninstall PC Companion so it will download the ROM again.Am I doing something wrong?
