Hi, aplogies if this has been asked before, but I thought to explain what I have done with my handset so far. I've recently bought an Xperia Z in the UK. Version C6603, FW: 434. Today, I rooted it, and installed CWM on it. I went to check if I can unlock the bootloader, but it says "cannot unlock bootloader." Is there any way I can unlock it?

TIA

Hi guys, great forum and great idea! I need some help with regard to the Sony Walkman app. It won't recognize a song (910 files copied to my phone, 909 songs available) and off course it's a big hassle to manually find the song.. Anyone know 1) a way to find the missing song, 2) why it's missing (read something about weird symbols in id-tags or something). Thanks in advance!

Hi Guys,

Im Using XZRecovery on my 4.2.2 rooted XZ. I have some Backups already made with TWRP 2.4.
Now im up to install XZDualRecovery because I cant boot into recovery without using the App. Do my Backups still work after upgrading to TWRP 2.5 ?

May I delete the XZRecovery App after installting DualRecovery or will it crash my recovery system?

Hi again.

I got my sister's Xperia Z rooted pretty nicely.

There is however one annoyance, which is the volume when talking in phone. The volume is far too high even on lowest settings. I know most complain on the opposite, but when she has on lowest in-phone, everyone around her can hear the one at the other end. The speaker setting is obviously off. I have tried myself turning the volume down, but it doesn't get any lower.

Is there any way to make the volume lower than lowest(with sound) when talking in phone?

Hi guys,

I think I need some help. I'm new to android (coming from an Windows Phone) and today I was changing some stuff on the XZ, but I'm a noob so I did what I shouldn't do.

Changed the /system/build.prop to remove the navbar, and now I have a bootstall. I think I've changed the file permissions.

The bad part is, I'm an idiot, and I didn't make any backup.

Is there any way to have back my phone without loosing the data? I don't care about settings and other stuff. Only the pictures :p

Thanks

If you have a custom recovery installed, you could try using the 'fix permissions' option in the recovery. That should fix it if it is indeed because you changed the file permissions.
Your other alternative is to use flashtool to reflash a stock rom without wiping data. Follow this tutorial -
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2240614
Step 6 tells you how to keep your data.

Thank you for your help.

I don't have any custom recovery installed (at least I didn't installed one) so I tried with the flashtool. Now the phone starts the "Wave animation" booting instead of rebooting in the SONY logo.

Getting better, but still no boot :(

Hi all,

Ever since I updated my xperia z to the latest android update I can't silence the shutter sound when taking a screen capture. Its really loud and still does it when the phone is in silent mode. The camera shutter sound is silenced all the time even when it's not in silent mode.

If I go into camera settings there used to be an option to change or silence the shutter sound which used to also change the screen cap sound, but thats disappeared with the new update.

So the camera shutter is stuck on silent (which is fine) and the screen cap shutter is stuck on "really loud obnoxious sound even when the phone is silenced".

Any help would be great :)

Did you flash the boot image that came in the zip folder?

Bootloader locked or unlocked? You can only flash a custom ROM on an unlocked bootloader

I have a question?
I am living in Saudi Arabia and no update of 423 cam here.
Now if I install the uk unbranded or branded rom happen will happen.
And for this purpose I need to unlock boatloader or not.
Answer will be appropriated.

You could try the app Fine Volume Control V2 from playstore. Works for me.

No need to unlock. But why not give it some more time?
