Help to install ARABIC OTA for legend

hello:

I have the WWE version 3.15.405.3, ORIIGINAL rom ,not rooted

and I need to install the new OTA whic is for arabic rom.

You can't, this OTA is only for 1.27.415.7
You need to find the RUU for that rom and/or have someone make a system.img dump of that rom (or the patched Froyo 3.30.415.6)

can we make a system.img dump if the device is not rooted?

Nope, it has to be rooted but temproot should also do.

support means libwebcore.so and libskia.so that supports joint character . till now there is no froyo supports arabic/persian/urdo lang. i think with adding this lib maybe framework.jar is possible to support each rom.

i don't know but try comparing it to the WWE 2.2 OTA and and you should notice the difference because the WWE OTA doesn't support Arabic properly.

I didn't found these lib in the OTA,however the user of this update confirmed the proper display of Arabic character and the right to left.

in my version I have the Arabic character not connected and not RTL.

so,if you can help us by any mean please explain !.

Yes, I can help but 1st you have to understand that this update alone is useless! It consists of binary patches (deltas) that can be applied to certain binaries only. Those binaries are in 1.27.415.7 ROM only. So unless you have 1.27.415.7 ROM on your Legend, there's no way to construct final version of updated binaries with this OTA. Is this understood?

There are 3 ways:

1. find RUU for 1.27.415.7
2. find someone with 1.27.415.7 on his/her Legend
3. find someone who already did the OTA to 3.30.415.6

2nd and 3rd require at least temproot. When you have some sort of temproot (su and superuser.apk installed) you can proceed with enabling of USB debugging mode and adb shell or use of some terminal app executing su. After that point you will have to make an archive of /system to same place on SD card (/sdcard). Archive is done via tar utility which is part of busybox which you need to push to let say /data/local...

Try to follow this post and let me know of your progress.

Those files are not necesarily enough... I'd like to see libicudata.so aswell and some other files.... actually I'd like to see the whole dump with all the Arabic translations etc.

EDIT: You can aswell make a dump of entire system partition with dump_image which you have to adb push to /data/local as you would busybox. It also needs temproot.
