Or you can use below ADB commands from the recovery but first copy the patched Framework.jar to the ADB folder on your PC, note that the new Framework.jar should be bigger in size than the old one by almost 1MB

adb shell mount /system
adb push framework.jar /system/framework/framework.jar

If you are replacing anything in /system/framework directory, you should at least wipe dalvik-cache.

And yes, I meant framework.jar from Wildfire 2.2. You can actually try to replace framework.jar with any you like. If it doesn't work just put back the original.

Ok guys, i have a friend who just bought a European HTC Legend with android 2.1 on it.
He is gonna bring it over to me this week so i could install the Arabic rom on it.
my plan is to install the Arabic 2.1 RUU and update the phone to 2.2 OTA and make a backup of the system so we could root it.
so tell me do i have to root the phone first or can i just use my goldcard to flash the Arabic RUU? and i also want to know which Arabic rom should i use, will the Egypt 1.27.466.5 rom update to 2.2 after flashing it to the phone?

Cairo
Is there anything I could do to help?

Hi Everyone,

I am an Egyptian living in Cairo with a US bought legend (originally 2.1 eclair, then applied several OTA updates until finally got froyo last December).
I was disappointed with the froyo update because it made my phone very slow and still without the Arabic joined letters. So I rooted my Legend and tried several ROMs until I settled with the B.07 ROM which I think is the best ROM for the Legend out there.
The only thing left to make my Legend perfect is to fix the Arabic letters.
I tried several ways, but was unsuccessful. Some of these ways are as follows:

http://ardoid.com/?p=16
http://ardoid.com/?p=64

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=790255

Also a friend of mine that has the Desire HD tried the following RUU and worked perfectly:
http://www.mediafire.com/?90jr079u8dfu3bv

So if there is anyway that I could help please inform me so we can speed up the process of coming up with a final ROM (hopefully B.07) with Arabic connected letter support :)

Thanks,

HTC Legend
