Help with Custom kernel

I'm a complete noob with custom kernels. Never flashed one before.
So someone please give me step by step instructions to custom kernels.
What is the best stable kernel for Z00L? I'm running older 7.1.1 build of Aim rom? Can I dirty flash it?

Yeah sure man dirty flash it .
I'm using POISON v4.0 myself . Havent been disappointed by it.
Works great , lag free , performance boosted etc

And the steps to install a custom kernel is easy like flashing any zip .
Just make backup and then flash the kernel through recovery and then clear the cache .
ALL DONE !!

I'm using the 3gb variant without changing any settings in the Ex KERNEL .the battery life is better compared to the stock kernel and dosent heat up much during charging(using moto g5 charger)
