I am stuck between buying a 700 and the 300.
The 300 is 350 at Microcenter, seems to be a great buy. But there are a few things that I am trying to work past but am having trouble.

Resolution - the lower resolution on the 300 I am fine with. I am hearing that there are hardly any apps that will work with the high resolution of the 700?

Screen Quality - This is the big one. I get that the 700 is a step up. The only thing I have to compare to is an Ipad2 (my wife's). How is the picture quality of the 300 compared to the Ipad2. If it can match the Ipad2 (be nice if it beats it) it would be a great step in getting the 300. Brightness and such, how is it compared to the Ipad2 (if anyone has both).

Hardness - second big one. This is not Gorilla Glass, I get that. But is the glass really that soft? I have read in other forums that is scratches very easily, or cracks. Many people recommend a protector, but I can't do that and "dumb" down the visual quality of the screen protector, after having used my wife's Ipad. Plus, I just dont like the idea of having a protector on my tablet.

What do you guys think?

Ya, my BB only has the prime and the 300. I will have to go look, prime will be the closest thing to it.

how about the concerns over the screen and display, these are deal breakers for me.

the 700 is nice but you cant beat the price of the 300 even with the keyboard your still under the 700 alone i myself have upgraded from an ipad 2 to a 300 and never looked back!

If you want an iPad display, get an iPad! Go and look at the 300 and see if you like the display as it is. If you are the sort of person that is always comparing one product with another then you sound like you won't be satisfied with either purchase.

No probs here with my 300T + dock. No scratches, no problems. No screen protector. If you handle it carefully and carry it safely - I normally dock it and use a laptop bag, or put it in a neoprene sleeve without the dock - then it will be fine. May not have the build quality of the iPad but consider what you are getting for the money.

I have one of the awesome shield screen protectors, and haven't noticed any issues. I really advocate getting a screen protector. the last thing you want is to ding up your screen and be stuck staring at it forever.

Back to the original question, the tf300 has been incredible for me and once JB officially lands, the performance will be off the chain!

The 700 also has no micro sd slot which was a big selling point for me in being able to remove data and swap with other cards.
