Looks like it doesn't work. If I go to the Advanced Calling section under Settings, "Activate Advanced Calling" is grayed out and it says "Upgrading in progress" underneath that.
Where are you finding "Activate Advanced Calling"? I don't see anything like that in my settings.

I did finally get the "IMS Service Stopped" Dialog fixed when I finally got into TiBu and uninstalled both of the IMS Service and ISM Settings. Don't know if I needed to get rid of the settings, but did it anyway. I had made a backup last night so everything is still there if I need it.

I checked my BT and WiFi-Calling and both seem to be working.

I just wanted to check that "Activate Advance Calling" thing that you mentioned.

It's in the Settings menu, under "Advanced Calling". Mine is in the first section where you can connect WiFi, Bluetooth, see data usage, etc.

Can't find it on my phone. I guess it is not on the AT&T phone. Here's a Screen Shot -

Well, I would think freezing the service in Titanium Backup would do the same thing. I backed up all the IMS stuff...then uninstalled it, and that finally got rid of the popup.

I hope someone comes out with a method to root that is more stable and refined. Root is great, but not at the expense of usability. I'm going to use my phone for a few days and see how it does while rooted, now that I have the hurricane icon removed and the IMS message gone. Hopefully it proves stable, because I'd like to keep it.
Yea after all the little things like that it seems to be running fine now just as good as stock to me

I still am having issues with WiFi and Bluetooth not saving password and not automatically connecting. I have changed the line in build prop to false, and rebooted and still having issues with WiFi and Bluetooth.

Is there a way to go back to the stock boot img without wiping /system? For example, I have ad blocking hosts, some font changes, and a DPI change. But I want to keep those without having the garbage performance and battery of engboot

I would be careful. If you are still failing DM verity on a stock kernel, you will blow the Knox warranty bit.

Mine was doing the same thing. I already had root essentials on my phone so every time I clicked the message to go away I navigated to it after clicking the message away every 2 seconds and I found ims service and uninstalled it. All it said was ims service. I still have a few things on here that have to do with ims service but the one that just said that worked for me

Have you tried clearing the data for it in the application manager?
Yeah, no joy.

Folks, my 2 cents: Root is not ready for S7 Edge as Eng kernel is not for mainstream yet.

As much as I hate to give up root, the performance is not really worth the trouble, IMO. Luckily, we have Package Disabler Pro to fill the void.

After I went back to stock, the phone feels very fluid and no lag whatsoever and everything feels great again. Maybe, it has to do with my struggles with root and now it feels like the device is reborn :)

Btw, all the hard work, by lot of folks, to get root has to be truly appreciated. Keep up the great work and hopefully, we get a real kernel that gets us the root and Sammy unlocks the bootloader... At least, that's the hope ;)

Sorry about all the VOLTE Icon problems
If your having FC issues your going to have to copy the original imsservice folder with imsservice.apk and oat folder to system/priv-app before you can flash this fix

This new zip should fix fc problems as no apk is replaced no more just the icons are replaced inside the apk

Volte Icon Fix Is now one zip for all S7 Variants. No more flashing wrong zip and getting FC. The zip only replaces Icons in imsservice apk. This zip will work on odex or deodex roms
S7_VOLTE_ICON_FIX_ALL_VARIANTS.zip

YOU MUST MOUNT SYSTEM IN FLASHFIRE WHEN FLASHING!!!

I'm now tempted to go back to stock to see if a actually notice a difference, not just comparing benchmark scores of dubious merit.....

But I am just fine with the way it is now, I am not keen on messing around all over again.

Question, for any and all:
What features of 7.0 N is keeping you attached to it? If MM has Xposed why are you sticking to 7.0? Just asking as I JUST got a S7 G930T. I flashed with root, experience some lag... just want to know if dropping down to MM is worth it. TY

Lots of new features were introduced and you can read it below. If I were you, I would just get to N in a heart beat even though root is not mature yet. Btw, I will not root it as there are lags even after clean flashing, wiping data/dalvik. The lag is minimal but there are at times it becomes unresponsive. And, there are wifi/bluetooth issues for a few users and strange icons in status bar.

I haven't noticed the that much - every once in a while perhaps, but not enough to drop root over. It was a lot worse on my old phone, so maybe I have lower standards.

What I have noticed is that battery life isn't quite as good, though to be honest, it was a bit disappointing on stock. I imagined a battery a full 1000mAh fatter than my old phone doing a bit better in that department.

Also, and I'm not sure if this was Nougat or root, but the lights under the capacitive buttons no longer come on. Given I have a black device, that makes them hard to see, so I have learned to swipe across from the home button when I need to use one. Mildly aggravating, but nothing major.

The phones touch key light duration in settings/display is turned off.

Battery life has always been an issue when rooting. There are some kernel tools and fixes if you search.

If you need or really want xposed, then I would stay with MM. I personally don't need xposed, just want it to block YouTube ads, so it's not that big of a deal for me. Just depends on you.

For me personally I seem to be getting better battery life, less lag, never gets hot and the boot time is a lot quicker compared to rooted MM. This is just my experience so far. I have not done anything different that from the basic tutorial for rooting. Though I did not get rid of the "hurricane" icon at the top.
