persist.service.pcsync.enable=0
persist.service.lgospd.enable=0
debugtool.anrhistory=0

ro.config.hw_quickpoweron=true
persist.sys.shutdown.mode=hibernate
ro.media.dec.aud.wma.enabled=1
ro.media.dec.vid.wmv.enabled=1
ro.ril.enable.amr.wideband=1
debug.enabletr=true
debug.overlayui.enable=1
debug.qctwa.preservebuf=1
hw3d.force=1
ro.config.disable.hw_accel=false

ro.vold.umsdirtyratio=20
debug.qctwa.statusbar=1
debug.qc.hardware=true
com.qc.hardware=true
debug.qctwa.preservebuf=1
#
#END

Thanks,
Mike
If you don't know what to do with them I suggest you do some research/reading up on editing build props. Not trying to be a **** but you can never know enough about everything lol

You have to copy and paste those to system/build.prop using a file explorer with root/read/write enabled. I use ES file explorer.

Ok, I copied the settings and pasted at the end of the build.prop using Root Explorer text editor. Backed up the original.

Awesome, good work! Another thing while benchmarking, make sure all back ground apps are closed, clear all the ram and let the device sit for 5 mins before you test. Also do not touch the phone while it's benching and try to be in a quiet, cool, dark place.

Down to 94K from 123 K :(

Will retest after settles, then revert to original build.prop and retest.

Just remember not to rely only on benchmark scores, they really don't mean much compared to everyday useage.

I let it sit for a little, then ran it in slightly cooler room --> 129K.

Any other tweaks you think may be responsible for the difference?

Not really besides just debloating/deleting all the apps you don't use.

You also have to remember all cpu's and gpu's aren't created equally. One can be an A grade CPU while the other is a D grade CPU. Luck of the draw is when it comes to CPU grades.

I guess I never really thought about that or looked into it but seems feasible. The eng.img does have some numbers for the description but not really like our firmware and BL identification sequence. I bet nougat for the regular S7 edge would flash on that active, you would be minus the active key. But it is kinda risky business if your only on BL 2.

I'm pretty sure the original poster of the eng.img has the eng.img for the active, he said he has all the firmware for them anyways. Maybe try PMing him about it.

Wonder why it wasn't posted, when post for other devices. Besides I pm who I thought was original poster, but haven't heard anything as of yet. Been 24 hours so far. He might be busy.
The engineering kernels and files are not meant to be released to the public, certain people have access to them for testing, coding, repair, etc... read between the lines. That's one of the reasons rooting using this method has such varied success... there is no 1 "cure-all" solution. Those files aren't really meant to be run for the life of the device by "users" on a daily driver phone. The files that are getting released, are more a less being leaked... not "released". So while "I agree" I hope they do surface sooner rather than later, I completely understand his/their hesitation in releasing them... Just read thru this thread.... some people have had great success, others have had complete failure... Most people don't even want to read thru the OP for details, let alone the thread to gather information.... they just post a question that's been answered before - sometimes right above their post. :( or people complain the instructions aren't labelled clearly enough, or links to files aren't easy to find, or using this method cause batteries and screens to burn out... One poster even said his rooted phone worked fine in the house with the AC but failed miserably outside in 80f heat... :crying:

We all try to assist, we all try to help, we all try to contribute.... but at the end of the day - each user HAS TO PUT IN SOME EFFORT. And everybody HAS to realize, rooting (by any method imho) is always done at the users own risk. There is no guarantee given or implied. Results are obviously going to vary - and for guys who don't understand what they're doing - the results are ALWAYS going to be questionable. ** I AM NOT COMPLAINING ON ANYONE ** I'm just saying having root on this device period has been a stroke of luck with a touch of genuine genius thrown in for good measure (NOT BY ME - BY THE GUYS DOING THE HEAVY LIFTING - THEY KNOW WHO THEY ARE)

I truly hope everyone is able to obtain an acceptable level of performance and usability while gaining root access. That's the goal for everyone in this thread.

I've noticed significant occasional slowdowns QuickVic30.

Also I saw you mentioned debloating. Where do I begin? Where are the indigenous apps located?

I forgot to wipe cache before rooting.... but did it once everything was completely rooted and everything is up and running fine. Used Quickvic30's new root.bat... no lag or performance issues that I can feel so far.

Anyone thing this will cause any performance or other long-term problems?

I know this root is for nougat but just curious.. If I were to downgrade to marshmallow.. Would this root.bat work for that as well? I really miss xposed.

When is it slowing down or lagging? If it starts lagging real bad just dirty flash the root.bat.

There's so many debloat threads out there just do a search on here. If your not sure about what your going to delete don't delete it. I usually do all the carrier garbage bloat and some system stuff that I never use. You have to be REALLY careful deleting settings or system apps, if you delete the wrong stuff you will get stuck at the boot screen.

Are you using the build prop tweaks I posted also?

I highly doubt it, I've been running it since March 26th and haven't had any issues. Everyone should make a habit of rebooting they're phone ATLEAST once every day or couple of days. Usually I boot recovery and wipe cache every other day.

Lately I've messed my phone up so many times trying to get s8 stuff working I'm pretty sure I'm on #6 of dirty flashing firmware using home CSC andnive flashed the root.bat I don't even know how many times lol. I did get the new rounded s8 Google search bar working though!

Here's a screen shot of my battery after 2 days using the latest root.bat from @jrkruse/@quickvic30. There has been no heat and no lag whatsoever. Very happy I am able to use this Rooted Nougat version on my phone.

When it slows down is hard for me to decide, but, I've noticed that when i pick up the phone for usage after not using it for a while, there's tremendous lag.

No i have not done anything in regards to the bool.prop tweak. Would you mind providing the post with the instructions?

I get that with unrooted stock.

In fact, I'm seriously wondering if I should revert to MM, because I've had more than a few oddities with this Nougat build even without modifying it.

The build.prop edits and instructions are on the last page or the page before. I have my settings at 20 posts per page so it might even be back three pages.

Like stated even stock is slow to wake. I don't have any issues with that though. I'm pretty sure those build prop edits will take care of that issue for you.
