i know this is noob but is side load in twrp

If anyone wants it, here is an android version I whipped up that will also access the hidden menu. Just sideload, root access is not required. It should work on a factory stock device as well as rooted devices.
do i out this on my sd then install thru sideload then reboot thank you :good:

First I was stuck in roaming. Then I did a ##RTN# from the hidden menu. No more roaming but couldn't get 4g. The updated PRL gave me the correct 4g signal back.
I'm having this issue. I can get 3G but 4G will NOT come on. I have two other note 2's with me from Verizon and they both have signals working just fine. Switched out my sim card and put it in those other phones. Both only got 3G. So I need to know how to fix the issue with my sim card. It happened out of no where. I think what you did might help.

If your putting your sim in another device and still no 4g then your issue is your sim card or vzw account issue. But since you said it happend out of no where I expect your sim is not working right.

Well, yes. But ti happened after installing Team Carbon's ROM. I'm afraid that if I get a new sim and just start installing ROM's again that it might happen again. That's why I want to know how to fix it myself. So if it happens again, it's in my control. Verizon might replace my sim for free this time, but what if this happens again?

Has anyone here tried this with Beans106 rom for the vzw note 2? And if so, were the hidden menus available?

Thanks in advance.
Yes I have been running it on the last few Beans builds and works good. Once loaded hit Menu>Enable dialer codes>Hidden menu enabled>Enable and back out and you are good to go.

Edit; I used the method from post 6 in this thread very easy and worked good.

tried it on two different phones running stock rooted versions of VRAMC3, has anyone gotten either the jarfile or apk to work on VRAMC3? I can only get it to work on VRALL4.

Any workaround?

Edit - resolved

Has anyone had success restoring a corrupted IMEI using the generator tool?

After clicking on write and rebooting the old corrupted IMEI remains in place, any ideas what I could be missing.

I installed this but can't figure out how to access the application or the hidden menu. How do I access it? Thanks.
--edit--
Nevermind...I used the APK in post 6 and all is well. Thanks.

Okay, I have tried everything I can think of in the last half hour to get this working before asking.

I am on VRALJB 4.1.1 stock/rooted/unlocked. My computer is running Windows Vista (64-bit.) I installed the drivers, made sure Java was up-to-date, made sure USB Debugging was checked.

I get to step D and that's where it says "Failed.. Phone does not answer". I don't know what else to try. I have followed the instructions to the letter. "RMNET + DM + MODEM" checked, port selected, both boxes checked, connects fine, and then read yields the failed message.

Can someone please help?

Thank you in advance!

All,

BIG thanks to the OP for this tool. I do require some assistance though. My Galaxy Note II is on 4.1.1 stock + CF-Auto-Root, baseband N7100XXALJ2, buildnr JRO03C.N7100XXALJ3, stock recovery, stock kernel and I generated a new IMEI file to be pushed to the phone with nv-items-reader-writer and I face the same issue as several others in the thread: both CASUAL and the .apk won't open the Hidden Menu :(

I do have root, proper java, samsung drivers installed, "adb devices" DOES recognize my phone, in *#7284# UART and MODEM are both set to PDA.

When trying to connect my phone to nv-read-writer I also face a connection issue: I can't see Samsung Mobile USB Serial port, only the modem is visible. This list slightly changes upon changing UART and MODEM in the *#7284# menu, but the USB Serial port is never there.

I tested this whole same story on stock 4.1.2 + CF-Auto-Root before testing it on 4.1.1 stock + CF-Auto-Root, because I read somewhere it would be possible on 4.1.1.

I really hope someone from this thread has some useful input for me as I've been investigating this issue already for over 2 weeks and this is the closest I get to a solution.

EDIT: Also changing MTP (mass storage) to PTP (Camera) doesn't help, on PTP I don't get any Samsung Ports.

Thanks in advance for your assistance

I found a way to actually get to the Qualcomm USB Settings, the application QuickShortCutMaker allows you to make a shortcut of all the "tools" in PhoneUtil. Upon launching the first 2 you actually get a button Qualcomm USB Settings.

Unfortunately when changing "MTP + ADB" to "RMNET + DM + MODEM" I get a small notification pop-up "Saved! 8" (The 8 is no typo :)) but when I go back it reverted back to the previous option... I can choose any other option and it will remember that I picked that one, but that doesn't work for RMNET + DM + MODEM.

EDIT: Appearantly this method should also work using the last option MODEM+DM+ADB.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

If anyone here needs a GN2 to run tests on with this, or anything else... I have a warranty claim on mine right now. After flashing a 4.3 rom I cannot get a solid connection back. (Love Best Buy insurance! Worth the $10/month, no deductible) It drops calls and wont send texts about 75% of the time. Turning the phone in tomorrow night so if it can be of use to anyone for testing just let me know.
