High battery drain with micro SIM

Hello everyone,

My SIM card is a nano SIM which I have in the upper SIM slot. However, I want to use a SD card, so I moved the nano SIM to the bottom slot with the help of a nano to mico SIM adapter. For about 2 days, everything was working fine, but then the battery started draining extremely fast. Looking under Battery in settings, it is always "Android Core Apps" with Included packages: "User Dictionary, Contacts Storage and Huawei Contacts" that is causing the drain. At this point, Mobile Data also stops working, although it is turned on. If I then switch off the phone and remove the SD card and take the nano SIM out of the adapter and place it in the upper SIM slot, everything is back to normal. Any ideas?

I guess there are a few things I could try:
  1. Get a proper micro SIM, and not use an adapter
  2. Convert from dual SIM firmware to single SIM firmware
In my mind it must either be the actual SIM card I am using, or some hardware issue.

I use micro sim and sdcard. I don't have battery drain issue. However there is one way you might be able to get battery life. Convert the preferred network to 2G when you are not using mobile data. I know this may sound old but it can slow down battery drain.
