I like this much more, because of the magisk root that allows me to use an AdBlocker (AdAway) and also prefer the Android TV interface.

Hello all. I jumped into this android tv box mess just recently. Details are hard to follow being the pace things change and the multitude of manufacturers, hardware and software revisions.
I got a rocktek RT G2. Its a Amlogic S905X4-K based board code named SEI804RT made by SEI. Its got a USB-C on the back. On the side 1xUSB A 2.0 and 1xUSB 3.0. and a TF cardslot. I see what I think is a reset pin hole. It's a certified Netflix/Amazon box.
Question is can I do anything with this box other than what is pre installed and sideloaded. Like is it locked down or is it rootable? Is there a VolksPC or something else that will run off the emmc?

Hi, can you help me how to install the slimbox firmware or how can i update the stock firmware?
Does this new firmware allow you to turn Root on and off. Previous was always rooted regardless of setting. Haven't test Slimbox for this yet.
Hi, i hope someone can help me with my problem, since this is the only place for discussions about the Vontar X4. So, this is what happens: I bought this device some months ago. I was never able to install the slimbox because both my notebooks never recognizes the device, even by trying three different usb cables and 6 usb ports (2.0 and 3.0), so i just used the stock firmware. Some weeks ago i just can't access the android settings, i click and nothing happens. After that the wifi stopped working, now the ethernet port isn't working. I enter into the recovery, format the data partition, but it's still the same. I can't try to update the device via OTA because i can't connect it to the internet, neither can i locally install it. I downloaded the stock update, put it into the internal memory, tried to install it through the recovery, but it gives me an error message. At this point i guess that this is probably a hardware problem, and since i tried everything i could think i would like to ask you people if there's anything i could possibly try here or just throw this device in the trash or is there some other recovery option that i missed?
Hi everyone, it's first time for me to try make slimbox rom in my transpeed x4s.
I have use sd card and burn card maker and burn with transpeed 4xs image all fine.
I make sd card in box and push the reset buton in AV and make power.
After this a have recovery mode not upgrade firmware.
What solution please.

To hear HBO MAX follow this:
install chrome and sony music center frome store
set hbo apk UI to television
set sony: pure sound ON, direct source OFF, hseex ON and prioritize LDAC OFF
lunch and close sony before starting hbo
use a Bluetooth audio reciver, better with aptx codec transmission
where do i find this version of slimboxtv? does it work with vontar S905X4 ?
P.S. i came here looking for solution for HBO MAX crash/no sound tho.. and still dissapointed
basically i only need HBO MAX and Youtube (Smart Tube).
guys i have some problems with vontar4x in 4k format, anybody have some config dor fix it, my version of firmware is 17 slimbox atv, thanks

Widevine L3. If you want L1 you need a more expensive device like Mecool KM6.2
You must use usb 2.0 and you must hold button that is hidden in jack connector before you connect it to computer and hold it until computer successfully connects it. If not try it few more times.
