OK.... I run 4.2.2, stock rom cooked in rom kitchen.it should..
what rom do you have? and what android version? you did make sure to use the right enable zip, corresponding to your rom version, right?
if you get a black screen upon bootup, it could be the bootanimation.zip youre using, that might be the issue..

The boot logo is an initlogo.rle file stored inside the boot.img. Not hard to change, and you can write a script to swap out the new one with the old one on the fly like we did for the Sprint S3never tried playing with the bootlogo.. read about it for a year ago, and it will involve some hacking to the bios itself.. i wouldnt bother messing with it...![]()
you got my attention. i want to learn how to do that. can you teach me or direct me to where i can learn. The boot logo is an initlogo.rle file stored inside the boot.img. Not hard to change, and you can write a script to swap out the new one with the old one on the fly like we did for the Sprint S3
try one of those made here: Omega ROM Graphics thread [Beware: Lots of images] -- just try one that is for Note 10.1.. it has the same resolution as yours..OK.... I run 4.2.2, stock rom cooked in rom kitchen.

by what you say, it sounds like its the bootanimation itself that is causing this..Hi guys,
Having some problems flashing custom boot on my GS3.
Flashed 'bios boot' zip for GS3.
Tried flashing enable too.
I get the stock GS3 splash screen followed by the word 'android'.
I hear what I think is the custom bios boot (pc booting) but dont see anything.
I just flashed the newest 4.3 omega rom. So that's what I'm working with.
I have tried a combination of flashing disable and enable bit no love.
any help would be greatly appreciated.
nice one mate! thanks for the info.. i just read like a year ago, that it would be some messy stuff, so i wouldnt try.. and havent really thought about it since then..The boot logo is an initlogo.rle file stored inside the boot.img. the android-greenie-thingy bootani, means that the custom bootanimation method is enabled..
are you using the "/system/media" or "/data/local" folder? you did use the 4.3 enabler?

Thanks for the reply mate.
I tried a bunch of other disable enables before the 43 because im an idiot.
tried 43 aswell and still no love. Just the android word and can hear the bios boot in the background.
Wonder if I screwed up my files by using other disablers/enables first.
any other ideas?
Thanks again.

now im certain there could be three remaining factors; one, the bootanimation.zip is somehow corrupted.. two, the bootanimation.zip is placed in a wrong directory (first priority; /data/local .. second priority; /system/media).. three, the bootanimation.zip-file need the correct permission settings (some people have issues relying on this, but i have never had any issues with permissions myself though..)
if its in the right directory, and permissions are set correct, then feel free to pm me the animation and i will take a look at it for you (because thats just how nice of a person i am:silly![]()
My data folder is totally empty. Is that normal?well, ok thenhehe

I'm having some issues with the newest 4.3 install. My data folder is totally empty. Is that normal?
if I go to system\media bootanimation. Zip is there.
I'm going to reflash the newest 4.3 omega rom.
What's the correct way to install the bios boot custom boot from a clean install?
Do I just flash 'bios boot' from recovery or do I need to use 43 enable first then flash 'bios boot'
Appreciate your help as always.
Thanks. I tried the one for note 10.1 landscape and no show again. Tried the 4.3 enabler still no joy. Giving in loltry one of those made here: Omega ROM Graphics thread [Beware: Lots of images] -- just try one that is for Note 10.1.. it has the same resolution as yours..

if you'd get the greenie android text, after enabling it, it should work though..
use samsung theme designer for it.. (Shutdown Animation) QMG file creation .. thread is made by @xessus , and in the very first post he has posted a link to my youtube video, were i show how to convert zip to qmg using that method.. try that then![]()
