Do you know how to set up the google play in system?
Any application I try to insert into the system is not installed.
If I try to insert an apk in system / app, it is not present in programs installed after the device restarts.
Thank you
I too did not understand how to install apps into the system until I found these instructions, you will need to root your phone first.
I followed this article and managed to install Whatsapp into the system folder of this Rom on ver3.0

Hi - you need correct (!!!) twrp and flashable supersu - if you don't know where/how to search, i urgently ask you to read more about flashing, recovering etc until you understand what you are doing! You find both items in Letschky's Androidhost-Repo: https://www.androidfilehost.com/?w=files&flid=172733

I followed the guide when restarting the application is not present among the installed applications.
I have root and use mixplorer instead of ES File Explorer

I tried to put it directly into the system/app and system/priv app folder
I tried to put it in the vending folder in system/app and system/priv app
I tried to rename it Phonesky.apk
I have given permissions to the folder drwxr-xr-x (755) (yes execution)
I have given permissions to the application -rw-r-r-- (644) (no execution)

The playstore is not installed!

If I try to launch the apk installs but reboots disappears between installed applications.

I was wondering if this rom has the same problem as the regular one: battery drain became really massive.
i don't have any battery issues.

You don't need supersu you just need to unlock the bootloader and use twrp.

Hello,
what can I delete to have more space available in rom and integrate the applications I want in the system?
I only have a few free MBs.

When I move APK from data / app to system / app, do I have to move the entire folder with OAT and LIB subfolders, or can I just move apk?

Thank you

How many hours of SOT do you have any day?

I tried with no SD card and still have no more than 4, with the "phone idle" sucking the **** out of my battery.
I don't really look at that stat as the phone gets some charge at different times of the day. I can tell you the on screen time in real life use for me is no worse than any phone I've owned before.

I wouldn't suggest deleting any further Huawei apps, but delete any of my integrated Google apps to make more System storage.

There should, however, be no need to move anything into System - follow the instructions linked to in the first post and your apps should not be killed in the background.

Hello,
I use the original ROM, I asked you why you are a "genius" and you have been able to get APP google into the ROM (the only google app has a size of about 120MB!).

With the first post instructions, when I close a recent app, it is also automatically closed by apps in the background. As I often use mapping tracking apps, I can not risk closing the app unintentionally, even if locked with the padlock.

What files can I remove from the original ROM? I only have 4.5MB free in system!

Thanks again for the answer

There are multiple Google apps included in the ROM - e.g. Photos, Music etc. You can delete any you don't want ....

... however, are you sure you have followed the instructions in my Blog Post? If so could you provide me the steps to reproduce this issue? I have been running with the Note 8 and my ROM as my primary device and have not experienced any issues with app closure.

I followed all the steps I mentioned.

Try downloading from google play this application:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.tappytaps.android.geotagphotospro2

Once the application starts, press rec to start recording.

Without blocking it in app recents, try deleting it from app recents and you'll see that the app closes and does not work in the background (see also that the status bar icon disappears when it is closed by recent apps).

This with all the programs that should work in the background:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.mobidia.android.mdm
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=mobi.maptrek.lite
etc. etc.

I have reproduced your issue - killing the app on the Honor 8 kills the underlying service, whereas on my Xiaomi Mi Max running Lineage the service is retained when the app is killed.

I couldn't find a way around this i'm afraid. I guess the workaround to this is just not to kill the app from Recent Apps. I personally never kill any apps - I just let the OS manage memory. I can see that the app could get unloaded by the OS if you opened lots of additional apps, so I guess you just need to be a little careful if you are running something in the background like this, or lock it in the Recent Apps list.

Unfortunately, even blocking the application in recent times, every now and then, after a few hours, are automatically closed, I do not know why!

By installing GeotagPhoto and OruxMap in the system, though they do not block the app, they are always open, with the icon in the visible status bar.

That's why I wanted to have more memory available in the system. In order to be able to insert my apps that should never be locked automatically, even by mistake.

If you can understand this big problem of HONOR, we will be grateful to you :)

What permissions should I give to LIB and OAT folders?
What permissions should I give to internal files (.so in lib / arm) (.odex OAT / Arm)?
Thank you
Sorry Mark I have no idea I just worked my way through it to get WhatsApp to install to my system folder, I took a few guesses along the way and it worked for me.

Thanks tiggrr,
Would anyone give me directions to requests about folder permissions on Nougat in system / app?
Thank you
