this should work:

  • Enter TWRP, choose Wipe > Advanced Wipe
  • Check the box for "data"
  • Tap "change or repair file system"
  • Tap "Change file system"
  • Tap "exFAT"
  • Swipe the button (still gives an error)
  • Tap back
  • Tap "ext4"
  • Swipe the button (this works, takes a short while)
  • Tap back several times until you are on the startscreen, then install zip from OP

On the v3 where you have with phone manager or without, are you saying with Google phone manager or with Huawei phone manager? I prefer Google phone manager instead. Thanks

Are we gonna see an update for this rom soon? There are a few things not working USB debugging wont enable mtp only charging, launcher preference doesnt hold either plus a few other bugs mentioned by others. Love the ROM now just needs tweaking :)

possibly bricked :(

I was trying to follow these steps and i may have bricked my unit. Anytime i go into TWRP, the internal storage is 0 MBs, only one that has room is my SD card. I tried to use the Huawei eRecovery and it fails on download. If anyone can get me back up, i'd appreciate it. Thanks.

While the process you quoted is correct, it is rather long winded for what is required here. Basically:

1. In TWRP, go to Wipe & press the Format data button. Immediately hold down the power button until the phone turns off.
2. When the phone boots back up, at the normal Unlocked Bootloader warning screen, hold down Volume Up for three seconds to boot into eRecovery
3. Select Format Data Partition and then shut down the phone.
4. Boot back into TWRP & flash the ROM

This whole rigmarole is required as the current version of TWRP for the Note 8 does not properly support an encrypted data partition. Hopefully this will be resolved in future TWRP builds.

The reason you have to initiate a format in TWRP, but kill it half way through, is to mark the Data partition as Corrupt. If Data is damaged, eRecovery will display the Format Data button. Once formatted correctly in eRecovery, TWRP will be able to correctly flash the ROM.

I am on B332. I have unlocked bootloader, TWRP seems to work, I did the backup but any attampt to flash the framework is not working. I understand the framework for Nougat is still a work in progress. I am not rooted.
Do I need to have the Xposed flashed before I can flash your google integration ROM?

No you don't need anything asides from a compatible TWRP.

Also i'm several times per day asked what to set as launcher - i set Google launcher as always, doesn't help...
i have to relativate this info - i'm currently back on stockrom and using an alternative launcher - which also sometimes is killed and EMUI is set as standardapp app for launcher again, so probably this is a general Emui-5-issue

so far freezing the app with Titanium seems to do the work!
