Got pretty decent results but the tablet lags so much... No idea what's causing it...

do a factory reset and if u get option to restore when booting new dont restory any apps or games, do a fresh new install and install anything u had before manually, it sucks but it worked for me get rid of lag, microstutter and heat problems, i score around 39000 in antutu now... Before i couldnt even play any racing games because it froze for 3 seconds now all that is gone atleast for now..

I keep reading people have fast and lagfree Tegra Note 7 but mine is lagging as a #$%@#%[email protected]# and I have zero idea why. I've restored to factory twice, not loading any programs at all, and it still lags. Anyone have any suggestions on how to get this thing running smoothly?! I started having these issues with 4.4 and now 5.1. And of course it was after warranty expired so I can't RMA it. Sigh...! Any help is appreciated folks!
Can't you use super tool to flash back to 4.3 then factory reset?

Mine is working great so far. Compared to 4.3 it has less lag and over 100MB ram more ram available! My Antutu score on 4.3 was 37292, on 5.1 its 39222! I didn't even do factory reset.

here is the problem with the update for this tablet, it seems nvidia tegra services are always pushing the cpu usage which almost are always at 100% as u can see in system monitor :( why is it doing that? no wonder it heats up to 42c and stays there... this is a joke. useless nvidia software that kills the battery time doing that nonsense for no reason...

wait for amd? not liking snapdragon? no one said we do not like snapdragon devices. and the shield uses an Tegra K1 by Nvidia or what do you mean by amd?
Amd is repenting having sold arm to Qualcomm, I think they have already released arm chips for server usage. Eventually we will see tablets with amd, even there's some Intel, but they are failing

We definitely need cyanogenmod, being so cheap it's a shame no developer has taken a liking to this platform

AND Announced they have dropped their Server ARM project a while ago. They are focused on bringing out a good x86 cpu again as well as kicking some butt in the GPU realm again.
There isn't any ARM AMD cpu's coming out anytime soon. Right now it is all Qualcomm/Intel/Nvidia.

Also I have rolled back to 4.4.2 as 5.1 seems like it could use at least one more good OTA patch before it is ready for full use. Messed with it quite a bit with clean flashing/wipes and installing apps to Internal as well as SD, but after a bit of use for some reason the CPU would get pegged to never downclock from full 1.81Ghz (even if only on 1 core) but it would remain hot, burn battery, and overall make the tablet feel sluggish which is unfortunate as when everything is working normally, the 5.1 update is actually quite nice. (Though I do dislike the stuff they pulled out like the CPU Throttle, Miracast, etc.)

I'm sure it will get fixed in an OTA update but for now, I was used to the few glitches 4.4.2 had and can continue using that for the time being.

Intel is x86, that's why only Chinese brands use it. Even in kit kat this tablet is very laggy, even moto g is faster

If its a problem with the update then why isn't mine doing it? I upgraded to 5.1 and mine works fine, just a bit of lag in system setting. I didn't even factory reset. I was originally on 4.3 (had 4.4.2, didn't like it, reverted back) rooted with supertool and CWM recovery flashed. The upgrade didn't work with CWM so I flashed back to the stock recovery using supertool. Still on stock recovery and rooted with Kingroot.

Usage did fluctuate with CPU Monitor being the largest, still never went much above 50% at worst.

Just updated mine to 5.1 and so far everything looks good.
Did a factory restore once the update finished since I always do to avoid problems.

UI is snappy, just tried out "Galaxy on Fire" for a few minutes, ran without a problem.
And of course it finally works as promised cause of the updated sound library in 5.x

Due to the mentioned problems i just installed CPU Monitor.
For me, everything is fine, no wierd Tegra Service eating up CPU performance.

For now, I´m pretty pleased with the update but curious if it will hold up.
