I've done more googling than I'd like to admit..
I thought selecting "5Ghz preferred" in hotspot settings would broadcast both frequencies and nudge 5Ghz capable devices to that band but in practice none of my 2.4Ghz devices are able to detect the network at all. I even restricted my PC to 2.4ghz which then couldn't see the AP anymore either. I keep having to manually change bands when the need arises. Anyone know what's going on, a way to confirm both bands are broadcasting, or a fix for this?
Magisk rooted edge (2021) trying to avoid bootloops
but had so many already it's whatever.
also, anyone know of a good way to modify TTL on Android device hosting the mobile hotspot? I tried iptables but I don't think our kernel supports mangling natively. Perhaps someone can mention if they've tried any compatible kernels?
