How can i make my Galaxy S very good?

Im currently running 2.2.1 JPY rooted

Its not very fast
sometimes lags and gives vibrations

What is the best firmware and best kernel to flash to also what lagfix is the best for that.

I want good battery life. Ive tried Darkys v8. It is fast but battery life is very bad.

Please give step by step instructions. Thank you very much. =]
