How do i add account to smartwatch Mate 30?

I've purchased the mate 30 in the UK for banter.
I've installed google services and most things work (not google pay)

trying to add my account o my smartwatch but the phone is saying "we couldnt copy your accounts. make sure that your phone has a network connection and is connected to your watch" - Fossil Gen 4

both of these things are done.

Any ideas?
