That's great, but where and when did you guys buy these m3's?

The one I bought from Amazon 6 weeks ago has not offered an OTA.
I got mine from Newegg in July. It updated to 7.0 out of the box as soon as I went online. This is the first OTA update it has received since then.

okay it's not super clear with Firmware Finder version 6.6 but I finally watched enough videos to figure it out.
Install Firmware Finder
Tap on your model number (should pop up right away at top)
Tap on latest FULL version
Check Firmware access
Tap IN-APP PROXY
Goto wifi settings and press hold your wifi
tap modify
show advanced
PROXY select manual
Proxy hostname: localhost
Proxy port 8080
save or connect
Go to Settings
system update
check for update. It should then show an update. Tap and let it download and install.

Edit: I do not recall having to change the DNS setting. I just checked and mine was still set to DHCP so I am sure I did not change it. Once done with update though do go back and remove the Proxy setting.
The full update to 350 which shows as 2.489gb is two zips? i did through firmware finder and the first zip was 1.19gb and another zip was 1.30gb. The 1.19gb is labeled hw/usa/update_data_full_hw_usa.zip the 1.30gb zip is labeled update.zip.......is this right?

I should have made better notes because now I can't recall. I am also looking for a newer update on mine and found a few listed so I am searching as well. Again.

Got an OTA yesterday. Mine was already on Android 7.0.
This latest update (ending B352) improved battery life, and some other updates.

I am updating B352 right now and it just downloaded as one zip. After the full update installs I will then install the OTA.

Hmm my tablet did not like B352. Said it was not authorized?
I'm on version BTV-W09C128B351

I just got my M3 from Amazon last week. No OTA update coming. Still on Android 6.0. Will I eventually get 7? Or do I need to force something using the firmware finder? I find the useability ok with 6, so I don't want to rush and mess anything up.

Yes, you will eventually get it. I bought mine from Amazon just after Thanksgiving, and just got the OTA update last week.

I didn't tinker with Firmware Finder because from all the posts here, it seems that it's easy to make a mistake and create lots of work and confusion for yourself, or brick the tablet at worst. And the warranty would not help to resolve a problem like that.

I found marshmallow to be just fine - all the features I needed, and good battery life. However, I absolutely did not like the EMUI 4 interface - it was non-standard and inflexible. Nova Launcher solved that until EMUI 5 arrived with nougat last week, now I'm happily back to stock.

If I were you, I'd just hang in there with what you have, and enjoy the great hardware, with the promise of better software. I do feel your pain with the way Huawei is handling this, though. They should at least be up front, and confirm that the tablet will soon receive an OTA update, and give a timeframe. I've lusted after a Huawei phone, but having second thoughts because of the way this went down.

it worked for me, but i lost root and the bootloader is now locked, i am sure i can get both back. 7.0 is much better looking, but i seemed to have lost bluetooth completely, it will not turn on
I have heard a few others complain about that, I had the tablet for 3 weeks rooted unlocked immediately, couldnt get to upgrade via ff even though I could download the firmware, then a ota came through, upgraded to 7.0 all data intact but bootloader locked. I unlocked bootloader and it factory reset lost data, then rooted. My impression of the tablet is very nice hardware, software not so and not enough development for it. There is some good information and bad information on the threads about how to do certain things like 5ghz for example. Maybe I will give Huawei another shot when the M5 comes out as I read it would not be the M4 because . I just know its alot of work if you want to get this tablet right when you unlock and root, so for now will stick with my old LG V500 with AOSP that still works great

Someone should make a sticky GUIDE out of it. This is EXACTLY how You make the update happen, to the letter. I wish all the guides around here were so precise and compact.

Big thanks btw. I did it and I'm happy.

Now... Anyone feel like making Huawei M3 LTE rooting guide just as noob-friendly? :)

I'm on EU C100B006. How do I get Nougat? Any build higher than mine on FF gives me a tablet with no Bluetooth, keyboard, updater app.

I read that In have to go from B006 to B009 to B010 to B303. Well there is no 009, 010 on FF.

Mine eventually updated on it's own. Not sure what was different but when I tried to force the update it would fail install. After a few weeks it said an update was available and installed just fine.

I converted my USA version to EU to get 5ghz working without unlocking bootloader, rooting etc. Now no Nougat! I thought the EU versions already had Nougat for awhile. Wonder mine doesn't see an update.
