How do I stop the email

Alerts from xda...they were cool before the advent of the app alerts...but now I'm doubling alerts....please assist.

Do you mean app notifications? Go to the app settings and turn it off. Notification email or other notifications/mentions? Turn it off in the control panel/quick settings.
