How do you clean/salvage the inside of the LED case? (Do not use water)

I followed bad advice and ended up using water to clean the suede, but that was a big mistake. I was careful and used a cotton swab with a bit of water, but once the suede dried, some parts became dark brown (I have the gold model). It looks nasty.

It's not that it's stained, it looks more as if the suede has worn off or become too thin. I still love it though and I would like to salvage it if possible.

Any advice?

I've cleaned my Blue LED case 3 times (once when some one dropped curry in it :( and it while open and the stain came out ) with just baby shampoo mixed with lukewarm water and a very soft brush then dabbing it gently dry
