But how the other things like Moto actions, display and gestures? Still flawless like on the MM?

yeah. I dont use moto display, it's very annoying and a lame attempt to hide the fact that they don't want to put in a notification light. After nougat update, moto voice was not working properly for some people. For that simply uninstall Moto from your app drawer and re install it from play store. It will start working normally.

Just 10h? Get much more on N. Yesterday 13.5h. So N can't be a problem and I have don't do a factory reset  How high did you adjust the display?

Edit: Another question. Is the quick charger bad for the battery or it is not make the battery died at long time faster?
I think 10 hour is a very high output and only a handful of people are able to get it.

What kills battery is heat. The quickcharge is made by higher voltage. When first using quickcharge I wasn't expecting that it stays cool, but it did. My guess is now - after years of trying to get slow charging speeds to keep battery good - that quickcharge is fine for the battery.

Thank you for the answer. I'm getting 10h SOT during 2 days of use easily from 90% to 10-15%, while still on MM. Not sure whether to upgrade or not.
Some people said the phone is getting laggy after the update to Nougat or is overheating.

They did put one in. I saw it, but I like Moto display more. They don't support it in firmware because they say Moto display is better. I think they're right. Imho they should let the users decide what they want, but it's not my decision what Lenovo does.

No they didn't put a notification light. They have installed a charging light near the proximity sensor which lits up when you plug in the fast charger when phone is off and that too for a second.
The reason I dont like moto display is when i am working and phone is at a distance I don't want to extend my arm every now and then to check for notifications. Notification light can tell me what type of notification I have without much hassle.

Yeah, "just" 10h SoT 'couse I'm a driver and i always got very very weak network signal, and like i said, still on LTE with Spotify on ;) so i think it's veeery nice, i love that phone despite the fact that in Poland it's really expensive, for that money i can get S7 but that battery life, it's awesome

I received the device on Tuesday, installed all the updates and then, fully charged it on Wednesday.
Right now it's on 43% and 5h SOT, expecting to last for another 2 days... this is just ridiculous! xD

Notification light can tell me what type of notification I have without much hassle.
I'm in the same boat. Now I can't tell if a WhatsApp is coming from contact or a group, and that's very annoying.

There are no many differences between 7.0 and 7.1.1. My old phone had 7.1.1 and now the new one has 7.0, so I can't see many changes. Very good. What do you miss? Why 6.0.1 better?

No keyboard lag is a big one. Snappier and I do believe battery life is better, at least for me. I have an app that seemed to have drained more on N.

Have used android 6.0.1 for a very short time, so I can't compare. For me is android 7.0 without issues. Gboard works fast, too. Don't know what you mean. Everything is fast. I need 7.0, because the possible to change the screen size, multi windows, better battery life, better preferences in notification bar (changeable) and faster installation/updates of apps. That is all not possible with the old android 6.0

So, here at 30%, Android 7.0, after 10h and 49m sot. And the battery can one day more :D And 6.0.1 can get more on heavy useage? I don't think so. 7.0 is the best :silly:

Edit: Still 30% and almost 11h :D This phone is just amazing.
Over 15h sot is possible and normal. That can't be better on the old MM

You are not using sim card. Its silly to compare it with phones with dual sim carda inserted and 4g running all the time.

In my opinion I had way better battery life with MM than I do with Nougat, I used to get 8-10 hours SoT, now it lies somewhere in the 6-8 hours SoT after updating to Nougat.
Yes I did a full wipe, clean start on Nougat, I wiped before and after the OTA, I have noticed negligible speed change in usage but major hit in battery life.

Maybe you need a new battery. How high is your display? Have it on 15% :D

At this charge I have 18h sot (4.5h = 25%). So, Android 7.0 can't be the problem. It's really good.

Hahahaha, good one... Usage is about the same, a little change here and there in usage doesn't cut 2 hours of average SoT, I'm pretty sure that Nougat is the culprit.

By the way I was getting 8-10 hours SoT with display to about 50% or higher when needed, I so regret updating to Nougat, I wish I could downgrade....

I have it so low because otherwise the battery icon burns in. That's happend just there and at no other place of the screen. The phone was cheaper as normal. Maybe it was in a shopping window before or whatever  Can live with this, because battery is on this phone very great. But it is interesting that N should have less battery life. What do motorola tell the people to this issue?

And, did you think about to switch to Lineage OS 14.1? Maybe that helps

Oh....that's terrible! I am sure that's a one time thing. For me battery backup has noticeably reduced and ui smoothness also took a toll. I will most probably go back to MM after 1-2 days.

I noticed the smoothness, but I wasn't really worried about that, since the drain would happen only with display on. Stand by on the other side should be the same, which was not the case.
I'll give it a try for a couple of days and see how it behaves. If it continues I'm downgrading and let you guys know how it went.

There is a bt bug in nougat. When you turn off the phone it disables bt.

A work around is to disable bt scanning in the location services and reboot twice.

On 4g all the time, what backup are you able to get?

On 4g, a third of brightness and often Bluetooth I get around 2 days with 7h SOT

Have now on 61% 6h 41m SOT after one day, on nougat. For me it's more than good. Don't think that nougat is the problem. Maybe any apps which are not good working on this newer android version.

yeah i have found verizons voicemail app being a problem for me sometimes. greenify seems to have helped
