How long did it take for the Z2 to get root without bootloader unlock?

Got the Z3 yesterday, but Im holding off on using it until there is a root - I've got too much I want to restore from my old phone via Titanium backup and I know root will mean a wipe.

Does anyone have a suggestion on how long I'll have to wait for an easy and (relatively) safe root method?
