How long was stock SMS messenger pinch to zoom fonts been there??

I got an update on att version of the phone and notice few things on the stock messenger app , one of them pinching in your conversation screen the fonts get bigger. Am I an idiot for figuring this out just now and this has been there for awhile ? I still see people complain about the font size on other forumsView attachment 4577724
