In my opinion its a fantastic tablet if you are using a custom rom (but that´s why I bought it )
Never had any problem with it since I bought it, so yea its nice, smooth and fast.
Well, if I buy an Android appliance and there is root/ROM for that I'll use this :D
Only thing that is enerving is that Asus clocks GPU only at 420 Mhz because with GPU OC kernels you get way more performance and not heavy battery drain (they could have included it in performance mode or had made a gaming mode for it)

Otherwise it's just fine, running CM10.1 now, for surfing etc. really nice, only gaming is a bit of laagy sometimes, but if we get OC kernels like the one from Untermensch with also improved I/O it'll be pretty smooth and with USER ACCOUNTS *.*

btw other good thing is that Asus doesn't wait a year until they release the new firmware like Samsung does or other do :)

I want to report that, if you use the stock rom and it shows delays or hangs of the system, try to disable Google Chrome from your application and you will see more speed and no more crashes when you download applications from the Play Store (I 'm testing this thing these days and it'seems to work flawless) ;)

Sold my tf300 and got a galaxy note 10.1.
The performance and smoothness Its like night and day. No more stuttering.

The note is a joy to use and I didn't need to void my warranty and fiddle with roms to get it to work properly.

After using a few other tablets, in various screen sizes, etc., I am very impressed with this unit.

I flashed a custom Rom and kernel, so that eliminated a lot of the "lag" issues many have attested. What made this my "go to" tablet is the optional keyboard dock. With the additional battery and full sized USB port I can do a lot of things I'd have difficulty doing with other tablets. In my profession, I use the tablet to do some "quick and dirty" audio recording. Using an app called USB Audio Recorder Pro, I can attach my USB microphone interface and microphone to record "on the fly" without the need for additional cables, etc. I'm also impressed with the HDMI out. Last night I was able to watch two movies on my living room flat screen with not a single problem. Both video and sound were excellent.

Each person has their own needs and desires. So when it comes to choosing a tablet, smart phone or whatever, they do so by their own preferences. So, while this might not be the "perfect" choice for some, the options and versatility this tablet gives me makes it my choice.

Mine is in for it's third RMA repair at the facility in Grapevine. The screen won't respond to touch. They fix it and it lasts maybe five minutes. They think they will wear me out sending it back and forth but so far after three times, I'm still hanging in there. But I will never buy another ASUS product again. They should have given me another tablet after the second "fix" but they refuse, telling me they can fix it. But that is hard to believe after the history of this tablet. I've owned a couple of ASUS motherboards and they are top notch, but this tablet thing is really a low for them since they want me to use up my warranty in the repair facility. I bought it December 1st, 2012 and just sent it in for the third time February 26th 2013. That is some pretty poor customer service. So far, they have had it more than I have.

I got one for my GF last Christmas. She complained about the lag and slow browser speeds, compared to her previous tab, a Dell Streak 7.

Unlocked and put on CRI with a KT kernel. She's much happier, no complaints.

I havent had any problems with it yet! The stock rom is a bit slow, but get it rooted and a custom ROM and you're good to go!

Gotta say I have a tf300, it is my first tablet and i love it. With a stock ROM it was a dog but like many i installed a custom ROM and kernel and the difference is massive!

I agree completely. I just got the keyboard attachment, and the increase in functionality is superb! I didn't expect to be able to use my regular wireless USB mouse with I purchased long before the tablet.

I got mine as a refurbed unit (16gb) with keyboard dock for $299 in december I think. It was an impulse buy, and I'm very pleased with this tablet so far. I had a Galaxy tab 10.1 with the old tegra2 processor, and the peformance of the tf300t is noticeably better for nearly half the price.

I do run custom roms on the asus, but I did on the Gtab as well. with the keyboard dock and expandable storage, the asus is now the best travel companion you can wish for, with laptop-like functionality, and the ability to add a ton of media with SD and micro SD cards.

we also have an ipad mini at home, which I do like a lot, but the lack of a file management system, and no quick way to transfer files means that the asus is the go-to tablet when we leave town.

Patiently waiting for someone to post a rom. I purchased my device since May 2012, and I just got a keyboard last week, and BOY WHAT A DIFFERENCE is the experience!

I now have a valid device to complete my writing papers and such. I haven't found a program that can compile java source codes, so I still need a PC. In my case, I own a laptop which my wife uses, but at least I don't have to kick her off as often. Typing is a much more pleasant experience, and much less time consuming. The wider keyboard on my 15" laptop still feels better, but this is better than the one screen keyboard when I have to type more than a paragraph or two.

loving mine :) !!! i have it for about 2 weeks, bought it with 4.1 and now i'm waiting 4.2.1 :D !

I like:
+battery life
+design
+pretty smooth, but not perfect though
+speaker are FENOMENAL !!!
+good display
+good wifi and gps signal
+good camera

could have been better:
-backcover feels a bit cheap sometimes, has a little flex
-display it's decent, but not exactly top of the iceberg :D
-no gorilla glass :( (biggest dissapointment for me)

just bought a leather case and got a screen protector and a stylus as a bonus (13euro including shipping) !! I can't wait to get my hands on those accesories :silly: ... but the road from hong kong is LOOOONG :crying:

overall: I LOVE IT !!! for 299euros it's the best deal i ever did :D !!! black version 16 GB

Wasn't satisfied until updated to 4.2

ICS 4.0 and JB 4.1 are well know for their lagging, to be honest I was just waiting to give my TF300T a last chance before sending to recycling. I always prefer my Ipad 3/4 for general browsing. Not anymore, 4.2 has brought some noticeable performance improvements, and now I'm using my TF300T on a daily basis.

I was lucky enough to get my tf300 back in september as my first tablet for $170 on cowboom (originally was going to get a tf101 but couldn't pass that up, also even though I bought it used it came in pristine condition), so for that price I might be a little less critical than others on the tablet, but from then until now it's been working like a dream. I mostly use it just for simple things like movies/web browsing/reading/video games and the like, running cleanrom since september (currently on 3.4.4), with really no complaints at all.

There's been small instances of it seeming to lag a bit/not performing as well as usual, but more often than not that's been remedied through rom updates, kernels, and certain apps. I'd definitely recommend it if you want a 10 inch tablet and can find it for $250 and under, if you're spending more there might now be better options since I bought mine or tablets coming out in the near future worth waiting for. Also, I was real happy that this came with a slot for a microsd card and an hdmi cable because it seemed hard to find both on a decent tablet around the price range.

It's a big bonus that the community for the tf300 here on xda is so helpful. I've been rooted with the bootloader unlocked since day one, which is something I know others are hesitant towards doing, but it was easy enough doing it through here without any problems, thankfully, and I've learned a lot going through these forums. With all of that to consider I definitely don't regret picking up the tf300.

More like delighted

Just purchased mine second-handed off ebay. Seller thought it was a 16g, but it's a 32g. His loss, my gain. This is my 4th Android device and second tablet. I had been looking at pretty much everything out there --- need hdmi out for presentations, and need ability to use keyboard (so I picked up a dock and waiting for that to arrive).

While the unit's a little goofy about unlocking, flashing and rooting, and a little easier to brick than I'd like, after a weekend business trip with heavy use, I'm delighted I made the purchase.

Congrats for your purchase! I was thinking the same about unlocking&stuff butt ... I don't want to take any chances. I mean i have my old faithful for my flashing dose :D , now I'm waiting for Ubuntu mobile to be ready :) .

Regarding flashing and unlocking my transformer .... well it won't happen. Yes, sometimes it has some small hiccups , but still works pretty well. I would say to give it a shot first. Once you unlock it ... it's the point of no return ;)

How much did you payed for the dock?

Oh yes, a friendly advice would be to buy a screen protector and a leather case. I bought my case for 13 euros including a screen protector and a stylus. (Shipped from Hong Kong but ... the quality is amazing  )

Enjoy you new toy :) . I have it for two weeks already and still can let it rest :D

Keyboard dock was what pushed me to the transformer series. Price pointed me to the TF300T. Unlocked and rooted running Clean ROM.
