Mobile data adblock not working on HTC One (M7) Sprint

Hi all,

Evidently I don't have access to Access Point Names on my phone. I have an HTC One (M7) on Sprint running Android 4.4.2. When I go to Settings>WiFi and Networks>Mobile Data, I see that "Access Point Names" is greyed out. Does this mean that Adblock won't work for Mobile data on this phone/Android version/Sprint?

I've set Adblock up on my WiFi connections and it seems to work fine. I just can't make it work when I'm using Mobile Data.

Thanks for any help.

Thanks for the process. The most annoying part was recreating the phone APN. Can't edit a saved APN so it has to be defaulted and recreated. Works like a champ.

Adblock Plus is required because it is the proxy server, you have to install it. Without it the settings are useless and disable your ability to use the internet.

Helo.
I have an ATT LG G2 and I came across this thread. I know it's for the S5, but blocking ads is software-related, so I ask.
I use an app from yahoo, called Yahoo Fantasy sports. In that app, there is a banner of ads that sits smack up top (see screenshot).
I have installed the Min Min guard xposed module, and I see in my hosts file that I have a bunch of hosts with 127.0.0.1.

I added the proxy to my new APN, but I did not install adblock as in the OP since my hosts file appears to be populated correctly.
At present I cannot connect using mobile data to the internet. In Chrome, I am told "unable to connect to the proxy server", and no other apps connect to their servers. I switched back to the original APN, and data works fine.

Does anyone have any suggestions? There are plenty of threads stating that it did work.

It works!!!

Oh, the joy!! I installed Ad Block Plus on my Xperia M2 (KK 4.4.4), I went straight into the APN settings of my network operator, added localhost and port 2020. Bang!! No more battery sucking invasive ads!! :victory: :good:

It's so good that I still don't believe it.

PS: I love how Chrome reported that ADB could damage my phone. Oh, yeah. :D

Unfortunately, I am unable to add or edit anything in APN settings (other than the name) because of big red aka Verizon. The settings are tied to the sim apparently.

I don't believe you can adblock on the Verizon S5. My friend had one and I couldn't get it working on his device
ofcourse...always verizon phones, yet i continue to keep getting new phones through them. I'm glad I read this before wasting my time attempting it.

It doesn't seem to work with Verizon phones. Anyone no verizon get this to work? Apparently you can't even create new APN's on verizons s5
Exactly for VZW note 4, we are somehow unable/unallowed to create a new APN... I was wondering why as well for quit some time now... but i cannot figure it out for the life of me...

Works great on Z3 Compact, thank you.
If Lolipop enables SD card write capability I will even no longer need root :).

Great discovery!
Cheers.

Can you provide some extra information?

I assume you mean Android 5.0. What phone/carrier?

I was just going to try this on my Moto X (2014) running Android 5.0 on T-Mobile.
I have a motox 2014 running 5.0 and it doesn't seem to work for me. I've tried to set the proxy settings for both Wi-Fi and my APN.
