I was using AdFree on my Rooted Note 2 but was looking for another solution which works without rooting my S6 Edge... Tried this and this is working without any issues.

One thing though... I am not sure if its safe using banking apps while using adblock? I mean by setting up proxy you are send all data via a proxy app that can sniff data... Think about it

Sent using XDA Mobile App

BlackBerry > S3 > Nexus 4 > Note 2 > S6 Edge

Out of all your guys apps/opinions and whatnot, what would be good for stopping popup adds through apps like news apps and others alike? I'm asking for my Dad because he had a rooted S4 with some great stuff in the ROM to do this, but now he's got an S6 that's not rooted and would like something to dismiss ads via his news apps like Fox, CNN etc... Thanks again FAM!

Exactly for VZW note 4, we are somehow unable/unallowed to create a new APN... I was wondering why as well for quit some time now... but i cannot figure it out for the life of me...
Same here. Haven't updated to Lollipop yet, based on the pretty shady feedback I've seen on it (and I'm still holding on to an irrational hope KK might maybe, somehow get a real root), don't know if that's any more agreeable?

This TOTALLY freaking worked!!!! I could kiss you right now! I spend so much time on YouTube and one of my channels, every video has a STUPID ad! They're gone now!
This has been the best thing I've ever done to any of my devices. Rooted vzw gs6.
Thanks again!!

If rooted use adblock as this method is known to block internet for many sites and apps.

On the site for version 1.3 its says "Adblock Plus for Android only works via Wi-Fi "
Did an older version also work on mobile?

Setup the proxy on the Wifi and mobile apn and Adblock Plus is not working on mobile, apps just use mobile data to download ads when connected to Wifi , if you switch the mobile data off they can't download ads.

I'm on stock 4.42 Note 3 9005

Hello! Please it didn't work for me. BTW I don't have a WiFi connection. I only use mobile data. The settings as you see in the attachments. I edited the original settings, but when I open chrome I still get ton of ads. And adblock plus says: waiting for traffic on port 2020. Please any suggestions? (Without rooting)
Thanks :)

Those are the settings! You should try enabling/disabling adblock from within app and also try a reboot. I found out that the ads are blocked for a little while but then they reappear :(
So root and adaway seems to be the only valid option when it comes to ads.
I use firefox with ublock origin and i'm ok on the internet but within apps ... holy ship :what:
