How to Block or Blacklist All Xfinity wifi Hotspots Want to Connect Hotspot Popup?

I have a new phone with Android 8.0 on it. Whenever I pass through or by somewhere there is an Xfinity hotspot a popup appears and sort of halts everything else asking if I want to connect. It is always annoying, but, I can necessarily get to it and deal with it if I am driving or doing other things.

I've heard that it is that somehow, somewhere, sometime you have signed into a Xfinity hotspot. It creates an account on the network apparently and not just at the location you are at. I guess if you have an Xfinity account for cable and all the rest you get one as well. I may have done the former, but, I don't think I have the latter, although I do have a Comcast account just for cable TV. Maybe they created an Xfinity account for me and my phones somehow. If I go their site I can't find any password I'm likely to have used that lets me sign in though. Anyway, I hear if you can log in it lists any devices or yours and you can delete them.

How can this thing be blocked or blacklisted. I don't have a rooted phone yet. If I can do it with just the phone that would be great, but, I'll use an app if there is one.

Here's how to turn off the Notifications...

Go into your System Settings Menu and select WiFi...

On the top right side of the screen, select the 3 dotted menu and select the "Advanced" option.

At the top of the menu is the "Network notification". Just turn it off (the toggle will slide to the left).

Now exit them all and now you won't receive any WiFi Notifications. It doesn't turn off the WiFi, it just stops the Notifications for it.

I hope that I had explained this okay via text... :)

Good Luck!

I did what you suggested:

Setup>Connections>wifi>three dots in right corner>wifi advanced>Open network notification

The last item about notifications was already not selected (off).

OK, thanks. I'll check it out later.

It looks like it has been an issue for a lot of people for a while now. Maybe Xfinity keeps adapting to any fixes along the way.

It sure is annoying. I saw one person said they were using navigation and it popped up over their map, couldn't respond to it because they were driving, etc. Someone could get injured.

Is this an App notification?

I thought you were referring to the WiFi Notification at the top status bar...
