you can write the qualcomm bootloader without using TP (and then opening the phone) using Cyclone box.
Afterward you can do on it any other job same as the mobile been always with the original qualcomm bootloader

But do you know if we absolutely need to buy the cyclone box, or if there will be a method soon which doesn't need that box? Because it only uses USB...

You can always bring your phone to someone with Cyclone Box / Cyclone Key.
I will add other Lumias aswell if 800 solution will not be copied and put free.

I don't know anyone who has a cyclone box, that's why I'm asking.

I cannot find any thread on XDA regarding rollback to dload.

Yes, you can restore original DLOAD with ATF, too.

No, not really. All needed files are included with the box and software. You can easily download them in atf software.
btw, now it is even not necessary anymore to open your phone. The Lumia 800 can now be unlocked (sim AND bootloader) with USB only. :good:

If you have an original esco file, extract the esco file and flash boot.img which is in the esco file.
