Thanks for sharing this "trick" with us.

I have a couple questions. How did they come up with this? How do they know which letters to edit to get these changes done?

I always used to switch the "H" to 4G and "H+" to LTE by myself by editing the systemui.apk.

But editing the build.prop is much easier and faster.

So I'm wondering if it's possible to switch all network-icons they way I want, but I don't get which shortforms stand for which network-icon.

im on x-note v7 international. note 3.... its the same process though. i used to do this on my gs4 on omega rom.

Have you been able to fix it? If so, then how? If not, do u think it might have anything to do with the ro.product.name and ro.product.device being different? Or might it be model number?

Ha i cant get it to work. i actually changed all 3 of those to match the att buildprop and still got contacts crash

u said ur on note 3 right? if ur using jltexx, use hltexx instead which is the correct one for note 3

What if we decompile our own systemui.apk to replace the stock images with the ones from xltetmo or xlteatt and so on? That way we wouldnt be modifying the buildprop which is whats causing the forceclose on the dialer, but it might be way more complicated than just modifiying buildprop....

it still caused the same crash...
Thats a good idea but i dont know where to begin. im pretty techsavvy so if you come across a guide for editing the systemui.apk please let me know

I answered my own question this morning, you lose the 3g icon all together, all you'll have is the arrows, atleast in my case........

Hey Bro. Got the same rom v28 on jfltexx. Can u send me a pic of your build prop file? Lte icon doesn't change and contacts crash.


Edit:
Omg guys. I just noticed that I have had the LTE icon AND the 4G icon another time! So I think that could be the H+ icon I am missing since the update to 4.4.2. Could that be possible?
LTE icon = H+
4G icon = real 4G lte?
