[How to] Deal with Bloat Safely & Properly {Freeze Method/ROOT} | BIGGER LIST(S)! 3/1

To be honest, I do not have those frozen as they limit the functionality of (obviously) a couple account related things (can't access google account sync settings, for example, I'm pretty sure). As well, I believe there's also a conflict with the Contacts app when freezing those.

I have heard, though, that if you freeze both of the Yahoo! elements (authenticator & contacts?) that you can then safely freeze the two Accounts elements.

I honestly have no idea why this would be the case, and I'd wait for corroboration on this before doing all of that, but I have heard it said.

I have seen a recent resurgence in the demand for more comprehensive freeze lists.

If a few of you would like to add to the lists in the OP, I'd be more than happy to update it to be current with the 2.3.4 Gingerbread release.

If people would also like to post in support of a list update, please do so- I'd love to help out the community, but if people aren't too worried about freezing bloat anymore, I'd prefer to focus on schoolwork.

Freeze those two, and you can then freeze Yahoo Authenticator and Yahoo Contacts. I would leave Accounts alone; as others have pointed out, you'll need it to change your individual Google account sync settings.

Alternativley just wipe preinstall and reflash the rom (eh... erase after flash but before first boot)

To guy above: make a label. Assign bloat to it, then search, check the bloat label, and do a freeze all batch.

Trolling from my ATRIX 4G's XDA premium app, still on the gold medal winner of worst customer satisfaction for the second year in a row! Congrats!

@Mgamerz tried, i reset the phone and when i started TiBu in fresh ROM there were no label nor any fricken bloat assigned to label i made.

If i remember correctly Titanium preserved it's settings before. So you can flash new ROM and have old settings of it after new install.

In that case i would have that bloat label i created after resetting the phone would save myself 10 minutes of life which would be spent on checking and freezing bloat apps all over again :\\

freezing the two DLNA apps causes my phone to not connect to the internet, and after a short while, it will reboot...

i didn't notice any problems with contacts.apk FC'ing with the yahoo stuff frozen, but i can confirm that freezing corporate sync authenticator will cause FC's in the share contact cards menu.

edit 1/2/2012: i take that back. yahoo mail authenticator FC'ed contacts when deleting someone from favourites. taking it off my list.

has anyone tried freezing the three suggestions apps?
