i tot we supposed to skip this screen if we did the dm-verity thingy? but i am still boot with this screen then it will show the oneplus logo.
You see this screen because you unlocked your bootloader. This screen has nothing to do with dm-verity.

And with "try with this" Do you mean #13 in that list of features of the toolkit?

I just flashed 4.0.2 on my phone, but when i look in the info of my phone, i see my phone is still running on 4.1.3. When flashing 4.0.2, i do this with the "install" option in TWRP. Is this the right way or should i do something else?

Well you did it right.
I think you mean, that you flashed the 4.0.2 firmware. This is not the whole OOS software.
You need to install 4.0.2 firmware/modem to do the commands. then you can flash the 4.1.3 firmware and you are done.

When you flashed the 4.0.2 firmware/modem, no put in the commands, then flash 4.1.3. you dont need to boot into system.
recovery and bootloader is just fine.

Is the only reason to remove this the screen that pops up when booting? No security, system access or battery life reason?

I've just tested a method from the OP3T forum for reset the DM-verity and removing the second(with red colour) screen on booting.
I'm currently on LAOS and I've TWRP, so you don't need to be completely stock for this to work :)

Installation:
For 4.0.2 - Do the steps 4 and 5 and just boot your phone.
For 4.0.3 and up - Do all the steps

1) Boot to Recovery
2) Flash 4.0.2 firmware + modem / FOR OP3 / FOR OP3T
3) Reboot to bootloader
4) Use the commands ( result was Okay for each command)
fastboot oem disable_dm_verity
fastboot oem enable_dm_verity
5) Reboot to Recovery
6) Flash your current firmware + modem
7) Reboot to system

Nothing will be deleted from your storage or something like this, its safe(at least on my device :D )

Credits to @jamal2367 and @djsubterrain for the firmware zips and to @hyperorb for testing and providing the steps :)

All credits for founding the commands to @th3g1z
It worked like a charm .. thanks a lot

I flashed this and it removed dm-verity screen no need for PC at all. did it once and forgot it :good: have since flashed OOS based LOS and Aosp/caf Roms changed FW's, audiomods, Kernels you name it and nothing has brought back that DM (red text) screen. Anything short of a "Official" OOS zip flash from 1+ should not change it back. forgot who made it or where i found it (telegram maybe... Idk) what it does is replaces your emmc_appsboot.mbn with a clean no verity somethingorother lol. It just works thats what I know for sure

So I was on stock recovery (I'm trying to get this back to stock to sell it) and it wouldn't let me install the modem and firmware files. So I flashed TWRP, followed the directions, and it got rid of the dm-verity. Well when I booted back into bootloader and flashed stock recovery, the dm-verity came back. I've since tried installing stock images through stock recovery, which worked, but it's still giving me the dm-verity.

So my current situation is stock ROM, stock recovery, locked bootloader, showing dm-verity. Anyone have any ideas?
