Downloaded, installed, rebooted....but where's the OS?

I'm very new to all this. I'm obviously making some very basic mistake. A window assured me Remix OS for PC was installed, so I rebooted and expected to be invited to open the new OS. However, my PC opened in Windows as normal...why wasn't I offered a choice between Windows 10 or Android?

Open up bcd.exe in Windows and make sure there is a biit entry for remix. Is where I would start

Thanks, perfectpitch. I left this quite a few days but have now done as you suggested. I have downloaded and installed it. However it seems I am completely out of my depth. I have no idea what to do next. I am using Windows 10 Pro and a pop-up window came up saying much of what I have downloaded is disabled because I am 'booting in EFI', whatever that means.
