Battery only charging to 86%

Either you have a hardware failure, or you need to wipe battery stats in CWM.

Use CurrentWidget to look at absolute battery voltage near the end of the charge cycle - it should be hitting 4.15 volts or above at the end (but not over 4.20).
Thanks Entropy512 resetting stats in CMW seemed to work, got a full charge. Then turned on and got a full charge then off and on again. so it should be ok now.

Help me - I have troubles with flashing ROM

I wanted to flash ROM (cyanogenmode) but I have troubles. I have flashed cwm via ODIN. Then I root CWM and thorugh every operation are a lot of failure.
For example:
E: Can´t mount /cache/recovery/command
Can´t mount /sdcard
E:Can´t open /cache/recovery/last_log

through wipe format /factrory...
E: format_volume: make_extf4fs failed on /dev/block/mmcblk0p10 (...
skipping format...
Data wipe complete.
Then I can´t find zip. file on SDcard and when I use internal SD card then there is a instalation error.

Help me with it. Now I use stock ROM KI3. Flash thorough odin was without problems. But when I want to flash ROM through CWM I have troubles.

KI3? Stock on the I777 is UCKH7. There is no KI3 firmware for the I777.

If you own an I9100 you're in the wrong place and we can't help you.

I successfully rooted my AT&T SGS2 using this method tonight without any problems, so thanks very much for sharing this info with all of us! :)

One oddity I've noticed on my phone since doing this and I haven't seen anyone else mention after reading through this entire thread; when I go and activate Bluetooth now via the toggles in the notification bar it plays the sound file I have assigned for notifications, and makes an entry appear in the notification area that states "Bluetooth available. Open available Bluetooth devices".

This has never happened before rooting my phone, so I'm guessing it has something to do with the particular kernel used for this rooting method? Anyone else seen this on their phone?

Thanks!

To jig or not to jig....

Only way is to buy or make a jig and flash in Odin using it
Not to be a pain, but....

Someone on this forum says the jig will not work with the i777 (AT&T SGS II) but that you can do it with a power on button sequence and a standard USB connection.

I have that darn triangle, and am trying to locate the easiest way to get rid of it, and I can build a usb jig if shown the diagram...

Thx!

Some jigs work, some don't. The GS2 seems to be more picky about resistor tolerances than the Cappy was. People with 301k resistors seem to be OK. People with 300k resistors don't, even though these worked OK on the Cappy.

Just power down your SGS II, plug in the jig and it should automatically boot you into download mode. You should see a prompt screen stating "Erasing download information succeeded". Remove jig, reboot. Viola… Reset Counter and No Yellow Wakness!
How exactly did you reboot? Is there an option on the download mode screen or did you accomplish this some other way??

Total newb to android after years of using an iPhone. I have a couple questions about this process. When I am downloading the different items mentioned in post #1, is this the link for the cwm I need multiupload.com/QQKN7NJAFTl ? Also, if that is correct do I leave that file zipped and just load its location into Odin or do I need to unzip it first? Sorry for.the basic.questions but I just want to make sure I do this right the first time.

Battery pull is the only way unless odin resets the device.
I've never been failed by long power press (hold Power for 10-15 seconds, maybe 20?)

Ok. When I download it into my folder it says "SGH-I777_ClockworkMod-Recovery_5.0.2.3." Then when I open it to unzip it all that's there is a file that is marked as ".." and one that is marked as "zImage". What should I be unzipping?

The file is not a zip file. It is a .tar. You don't need to unzip it. I sounds like you have file extensions turned off on your computer, so you are not seeing the extension? Anyway, the tar file goes in the PDA slot in odin. When the instructions say load the kernel into the PDA slot, that means the .tar file you just downloaded. BTW, the zImage is the kernel itself, is the actual file that is flashed to the correct file block in the file system to install the kernel.

If you stick the zImage in a .tar, it should work.

Man I miss SGS Kernel Flasher, made things so easy.
I'm gonna give it a try, Thanks!

Remove /system/xbin/su and /system/app/Superuser.apk
I meant unroot and return to stock. What would deleting those files do, exactly? Sorry, I'm not new to android, but Samsung and HTC are so different. Not even sure what to do first. Need to sit down and read everything, and download all the apps I need.
