Difference b/t this & Zedomax's root method?

I got an AT&T GS2 a few days ago and am going to root it and install UnNamed (and eventually Cyanogen when they get a fully stable version out!) as soon as I decide for sure that I'm going to keep the phone.

One quick question though. What is the difference between the preferred method in the first post of this thread, and the method posted by zedomax at http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1309293?

Seems like they are essentially the same? Any thoughts on which one is preferable?

If the only difference is the kernel that gets installed, then I guess it ultimately doesn't matter to me since installing UnNamed will replace the kernel with Entropy's Daily Driver regardless.

Any advice appreciated!

I agree that any difference is relatively insignificant. Once you have UnNamed rom installed, you will have Entropy512's latest Daily Driver kernel anyway.

For me, the biggest issue is that with either method, you will increment your flash counter, and therefore, you will need to buy a Jig if you wish to reset it. If you want more info on that, see links in my signature.

Interesting, thanks for the heads up. Say I follow the method in your post to avoid incrementing the flash counter. For Step 3a, suppose I flash Entropy Daily Driver kernel. Then for Step 4, suppose I flash UnNamed 1.0.4, which appears to also have the Entropy Daily Driver kernel. So effectively the Entropy Daily Driver kernel has been flashed twice. Once via your method in step 3a, and once via CWM in Step 4. Is that correct? And this will not cause the flash counter to increment?

You also say to avoid flashing anything non-stock. Does that mean flashing Cyanogen would cause the flash counter to increment? Or is it fine as long as I flash from CWM rather than from Odin/Heimdall?
