Can somebody please enlighten me on what carrier aggregation actually is, is it better on or off.. I did everything in the guide and have achieved results, also have gotten into the 4636 menu using Google phone dialer which I couldn't b4.. If I put it in NR only I get NR SA but only 40 down which seems weird. Full bars. As much as full bars can ever actually mean anything other than what they want.
And curious about why whenever I see whether data and voice are LTE or NR or whatever it may be there's also in between "Override Network" listed... And wondering how that's chosen or whatever decides that. I'm just trying to achieve a little better down speeds. I'm in between 5G and 4G LTE but for some reason the speeds are horrendous. Like we're talking sometimes 14 down and 1 up..

Carrier aggregation (LTE+/4G+) is when the phone uses multiple bands together to increase throughput and bandwidth. Obviously it's better on. You shouldn't disable it, it's on by default.

Just because you're connected to 5G doesn't mean you'll get amazing speeds. It depends on many factors like distance to the tower, tower congestion, signal level, and which band you're connected to. You definitely won't get good 5G speeds indoor also.

If you want to debug, when connected to 5G, use the *#0011# menu -> SIM 1/2 Info to look at which NR_BAND you're connected to and also look at signal level (NR-RSRP) and SNR (NR-SINR).

If you show us the numbers, I can tell you if the speed you're getting makes sense.

Note20 Ultra users. Have any of you upgraded to android 13 and still have access to the Service Menu? I'm afraid to update to Android 13 so I have the update on pause right now with 10s left because I lost access to the service menu when I updated to Android 12 back in January and only got it back 2 days ago thanks to the thread.

If you already upgraded to Android 13, did the Service Menu transfer to Android 13 or did you had to use the computer to unlock the Service Menu again?

By the way, I have the T-mobile Note20 Ultra SM-N986U which is network unlocked.

Thanks. Things tend to change between beta revisions and official updates. If you upgrade to the official Android 13 please let me know if you still have access to the Service Menu. I'll stay on Android 12 for now until I get confirmation.

If newer models can still access it I'm positve service menu will still work after the update on N20U.
Since downgrading is still possible from 13 to 12 I assumed you don't want the hassle of factory resetting so it's still good to wait for someone knows this.
I can confirm this once they'll push the A13 update this December for U1.

It should work from the Galaxy S20 and up. It's not going to brick your phone if that's what you are worried about. When ever in doubt, make a backup first. Then read through the thread and try to find answers.

I'm at a loss, I cannot get SamFW Tool to get past the "Waiting for DIAG" part. I have Samsung USB Drivers installed, and USB debugging enabled. The SamFW tool is able to read my phone state, phone number, software version, and it's connected... as far as the phone's firmware goes, I should be okay.. Under service provider software version it shows:

SAOMC_SMS908U1_OYM_FKR_13_0015 FKR/FKR,XAR/XAA

When I get to the "Waiting for DIAG" portion, I punch in #*0808# and select " DM+Modem+ADB" and hit okay.... Nothing happens with SamFW... It still remains at Waiting for DIAG. I cannot get past this point.

I noticed you're on FKR CSC. Try to change your CSC to VZW or XAA with SamFW first, then try the unlock secret codes steps.

Also, remove your SIM before switching CSCs, since it might switch back to FKR if you have your SIM inserted. Once you unlock the secret menu and see that it works, you can go back to FKR by inserting your SIM.

Flashing from canada firmware to US isn't possible.
Just change it to XAA or XAC using samfw without sim then do the trick.

Sometimes, this will work directly on Canadian firmware. You might not need to flash US firmware. It worked for me on my Canadian S22U without first flashing US XAA. Try the instructions first on your Canadian firmware before flashing to see if it works and save you the extra step.

And yes if you flash US firmware then do the trick and flash Canadian back, the menu will still be unlocked. I've tested that. Though if you flash between American and Canadian firmwares, you will lose all data so keep that in mind.

Hey bud , thank you for your reply , I knew that we can go from CA to US variance and vice versa .

I will try to do it without the flash of XAA. I already tried to access the secret menu with the code but no luck . I will try now with the SamFw and see if I can unlock it
