Hello guys,

Probably most of you know about this "Flag-0-Rainbow" that crash WhatsApp on iPhone (check Vincent Desmurs video if you don't know about this) and some people found a way to make it work on Android too, you just have to import a contact file (I won't share) and share this contact full of emojis with someone on WhatsApp to crash their app (it also crash browsers when you try to open it via web whastapp).

Since whatsapp won't work after you open this message the suggested fix until now was to delete all your whatsapp conversations, delete your data or just uninstall app, that is too much work and you can't recover everything even if you have a backup because the backup probably wasn't right before someone make it crash.

I found a quick fix that works on every phones I tested, go to Settings > Apps > WhatsApp > Force stop or just use any app like Greenify to stop the app running on background, open WhatsApp, open another chat and forward anything (sharing images or a big text wall will help) to the conversation with contact file that crashed your phone, your WhatsApp will crash again so repeat the process until the message stop being on screen when you open the conversation, when it happens the WhatsApp will stop load that file automatically and you'll be able to open the chat.
You can just open the message and when your WhatsApp freeze just wait (waiting time depends on your phone specs), when it goes back to normal just select the message and delete, your WhatsApp may freeze sometimes during the deleting process, just be patient and when it crash and gives you a message to kill the app or wait always click on wait for the app option.

Note: If you scroll up to the contact file appear on your screen again, whatsapp will load the file and it will crash your whatsapp again. Also keep in mind this is a temporary fix until WhatsApp team fix it on next updates.

PS: Noticed this is in wrong thread so move this to one of Android threads if you can, please ;)

Thanks for this information man, just today an idiot sent that emoji code to a group of whatsapp I am in and nobody could enter whatsapp, the application did not respond or freeze, I thought it was some spyware code or Malware but I see that its only purpose is to crash, I hope whatsapp fix this problem. it's not funny.
