Hello! I hope some one can help me! I have a rooted(unrevoked) Incredible that has not been updated with Gingerbread. I have the Clockwork Mod and I flashed Convert2Ext4_no_data_limit_normal_dalvik.zip. Everything went fine except for the wifi issue. I had wifi but could connect to Firefox or check mail so I read up some and flashed this 2.6.35.14-gingertiny-v2-02252012.zip which I thought was the wifi fix. The next thing I know my phone does a complete factory reset and I keep getting the setup wizard like my phone is brand new. I go through all the steps and every time I get to the last step it crashes and I get the message "the Application Setup (process com.htc.android.htcsetupwizard) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again" I tried to install my backup but it is gone. What can I do to get around this or is there anything I can do to wipe my phone completely clean and start over?
Thank you for your help!

Here you go dinc.does-it.net/Guide_Root_New_Hboot/unrevoked-forever.com
So basically I am just rooting it again with unrevoked since I have s-off already? I will try in the am when my phone is fully charged again. If I remember correctly this took a while and you should have a full battery. I will post tomorrow my results. Thanks for your help!

Thanks

Worked perfectly. Thanks a million. You may want to update the guide to change the Convert2EXT4 file names. There are new versions with 28 October file dates. It is now version 2.0 "Convert2Ext4_no_data_limit_normal_dalvik.v2.0.zip"

Hello again.

I have been trying to do a back up with Rom Manager since I installed Cyanogen Mod 7-20121202 Nightly to get rid of the low space error. I click the back up and use the file name that is automatically set up. From there it goes to the Fastboot screen and never runs the back up. Is there a file I am missing or another way to do a backup?

Thanks for your help!

Are you using an app to start the backup, like rom manager? If so instead go directly to recovery and make the backup. Power off the phone, hold vol down and power till a white screen appears (hboot), use the vol keys to navigate to recovery and the power button to select it. Once in recovery use the vol keys to navigate to backup & restore and using the trackball select backup.

I am using the app rom manager. I just tried powering off the phone method and when I click on recovery it does not give me a choice of back up & restore. My only options are Bootloader, Redoot, Reboot Boatloader, and Power Down.

I just fixed it! I flashed this file: PB31IMG.zip after seeing it in another thread and it worked! I have been searching for hours. Some how my Rom Manager was corrupt. Thanks for the help anyway! This is by far the best site for information I have used.

Thats definitley the cause of your issues. You either need to find froyo kernel with ext4 support, or flash a gingerbread rom. Im surprised froyo even boots with a gb kernel installed.

It depends what you mean by install gingerbread. If you do an ota or flash a gingerbread ruu, yes it will unroot you. However you are s-of so geting root back is easy. Just flash cwm thru hboot, then flash superuser thru recovery, instsll busy box and your good to go. But if you just flash a rom based on gingerbread, you will still be rooted, as almost all roms come pre rooted. My advice is to flash a gb based rom, then flash this mod, then flash an updated gingertiny kernel, as the mod installs an older version.
I'm a noob and had the same problem...and now a new one!

Started with a Droid Incredible on Page Plus running froyo's Skyraider 4.2 (and blocked any OTA updates). Was experiencing the "low on space" problem and flashed the fix. Then I had the problems as described on page 3 of this thread (wifi connected but no internet access, B&W camera, etc), so I flashed the latest Gingertiny kernel, and realized it wasn't GB, so I flashed the Touch of Blue 2.2 ROM.

Finally got it starting, but now there is no Google Play app. The "Market" app only opens the internet browser to the Google play terms. Without Google Play app, I've been unable to download Titanium Backup (restore apps/data) and Lookout Mobile Security (restore contacts, etc).

Any help would be appreciated! Thanks!
