Everything was ok before step 10

Everything was ok before step 10. Root access was ok. However after doing step 10 following the instructions just as mentioned on every row I got two issues I hope anyone can help me solving them.

1. My Wi Fi connection Stop working properly. It connects to every router just fine but without connecting to the internet, and

2. Everytime i want to take a picture or a video with the camera the previous image is in black and white, however the picture ot the video taken is in color. I have checked all the camera settings and I am 100% positive everything is ok

The only thing i did different in this step was instead of downloading "Convert2Ext4_no_data_limit_normal_dalvik.zip" (I never found it) I downloaded "Convert2Ext4_no_data_limit_normal_dalvik.v2.0.zip "

I will appreciate every assistance in order to get this issues solved

Thanks and best regards

To try to fix wifi, flash the latest gingertiny kernel.

The pic preview button on mine is in black and white too, it comes that way stock.

Does this fix touch my apn settings at all? Around the time I used this fix I stopped recieving SMS/MMS. Are these things related at all?

I did a bit of searching and came up with nothing.

Even more space...?

Lets say I'm someone who has an insatiable appetite for apps, especially large data hungry ones and I've filled up my 748 mbs. Is there any way to permanently partition the internal storage space (the 6.6 gigs internal for media) as rom space for apps/data? Or even part of it? (2 gigs of it, 4 gigs of it, any amount of it... I won't miss it when its gone...)

Thanks in advance

I tried this mod but switched to Link2SD a while ago. You have to partition part of the SD Card but you get to pick the storage size. Once it's set up you can set Link2SD to automatically "link" new apps and updates to the partition. My son uses the phone now, WiFi only, with lots of games (including every Angry Bird version), apps (Netflix, ...), and updates on it. Right now, the phone has 860 MB used in the partition.

Very cool. This sounds like this will work just great. I would love to part with some space on my sd card if this works well. Do I have to partition the sd card ahead of time, or can I do that from within the app? (I downloaded it and gave it a cursory look through, but haven't seen anything yet...) (Also, does the card have to be formated clean to do this, or is it ok with my existing data?)

You have to set up the partition before using it with Link2SD. I used a card reader to set up the partition on the sd card with the free MiniTool Partition Wizard Home Edition on a Windows 7 system. You don't have to re-format the sd card before you use MiniTool but you may want to back it up to a folder on your computer just in case. I used ext3 as the file system for the 2nd partition.

Well I tried using MiniTool, pretty sure I screwed this up royal, but just in case I come out on top with this, why ext3?

I am good with the normal ext4 dalvik fix. Absolutely saved my Dinc. I used to have catastrophic failure regularly with 120 mb of 149mb consumed. There are some bad apps that require data to be stored in phone memory.

Ext3 runs faster.

Faster than ext2 or faster than ext4?
Anyways, looks like its ok for now, I had originally tried ext2, link2sd said that my system did not support ext2, (I'm using tiny's 10.1 nightlies from the other thread) so I tried ext4 for the heck of it, and it seems to be working fine for now...

If you are using the mod from this thread (gingertiny kernel), then you could use ext4 also. I believe incredikernel also supports ext4.
Could you explain this 'kernel' business to me? I guess I'm just not understanding where I have control over that... isn't it just - the ROM you're on has it or doesn't?

Control over kernel settings can be done with apps from the market like Incredicontrol and SetCPU. I reccomend Incredicontrol. With it you can change the cpu governor which are like power profiles determining how the cpu scales up and down. You can change the IlO scheduler which controls read and write opperations. You can control the min and max cpu frequencies allowing you to over or underclock the cpu. You can overvolt or undervolt, which controls how many volts the cpu pull on each frequencie. It also has options to enable usb fastcharge and audio boost.

Some roms come with a custom kernel built in, but kernels can also be flashed independantly of a rom.

Oh and ext4 is faster than ext3 which is faster than ext2.
